What you ll do
As the SPO Communications Manager, you will work closely with key stakeholders to develop messaging to support the priorities and day-to-day activities of business initiatives for the Chicago and Canadian Tax practices. Additionally, you will interface with a range of stakeholders developing innovative approaches, creating messaging and positioning, and working across teams to implement, with a strong emphasis on project management and measurement. This position reports to the Managing Director of the SPO.
Communications professional with seven to ten years relevant corporate communications experience
Strong writing and editing skills

Ability to work and achieve results in an intense, fast-paced virtual team environment; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
An understanding of the nuances of communications in large, complex organizations
Strong sense of initiative and creativity, plus ability to prioritize commitments and deliverables in line with firm priorities
Solid team player with ability to manage multiple projects and deliver against tight deadlines.
Experience in measuring the effectiveness of communication strategies
Excellent technical skills, including use of Microsoft Office suite of applications and social media
Bachelor s degree in Communications, English, or Business with expertise in communications practices preferred
The SPO Communications Manager must be highly skilled in:
Writing and editing for different types of channels and audiences, including executive communications and speech writing
Managing the preparation and organization of communications and content production workflow, from visioning through execution and reporting
Building and executing creative communications programs that reach across multiple audience segments
Fostering relationships with clients, and communications colleagues to develop a trusted advisor status and facilitate robust planning
Preparing reports on engagement and providing insights on results
Working effectively in a professional services virtual team environment, corporate and/or matrix organization
Balancing priorities for multiple stakeholders, self, and team
