Work you'll do

In this position you will provide Advisory and Assistance Services to a front office and seven divisions within the department. The overall duties include: Daily management of Microsoft SharePoint-based content, including day-to-day upkeep of assigned sites, ensuring that sites are reviewed, published, secured, and maintained. Daily maintenance of security requirements, including the management of access controls limiting access to approved individuals with appropriate need-to-know. Daily maintenance and updates to established databases and drives which house department and division key documents. This includes updating specific drives with Agency standing operating procedures naming conventions and associated policies. On a recurring basis (weekly or more frequent), sustain dialogue and communicate with the Department's sites' users about tips, training, and updates, as well as serving as the Department's point of coordination with the IT Directorate. As needed, manage the resolution of user requests, responding to inquiries from Division users, and resolving issues for users of assigned sites. The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate exceptional communications skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced program management environment.

Principal Duties • Consult directly with the Department SES-level leadership. • Utilize Microsoft SharePoint on a daily basis, facilitating Department and Division correspondence and communication. • Manage Department and Division SharePoint pages, to include the overhaul and restoration of appropriate user access levels to needed information sites. • Coordinate with IT Directorate and department leadership to track and manage supported SharePoint functions. • Routinely brief executive-level customers regarding the status of Knowledge Management objectives and on-going project updates. • When needed, consolidate raw data for executive level documents, briefings, and reports; and fuse into finished products.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

  • TS required with SCI eligibility. TS/SCI highly preferred

  • Travel up to 20%

  • Ability to work in office 2-3 days per week

  • 5+ years of government experience (military or DOD experience highly preferred)

  • 5+ years of demonstrable experience with Microsoft Sharepoint (preferably as a web content manager) and/or Enterprise Content Management

  • Ability to build Sharepoint site from ground up within DOD agency's existing Sharepoint

  • Ability to maintain Sharepoint site including periodic review, updating content, and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure site is maintained

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree or certification in knowledge management and/or Web-Based Graphics Design

  • Previous DOD KNowledge Management experience highly preferred
