Policy & Government Relations - Summer Intern

Deloitte LLP's Policy & Government Relations (PGR) team is looking for qualified policy and legislative interns who are eager to learn about how a professional services firm engages in policymaking at the federal, state, and local levels. This internship will enhance your understanding of the environments in which Deloitte operates as a large professional services firm and how the PGR team supports key business functions. As an intern, you will work with diverse groups of professionals, gain first-hand exposure to the tools, processes, and services we provide to our internal stakeholders, and learn how we engage externally with policymakers, third-party advocates, and coalitions to protect and advance Deloitte's business interests.

Work you'll do

As an intern, you will work as part of the PGR team, with a focus on researching, tracking and reporting on those legislative and policy issues consistent with Deloitte's business interests. You will develop written products, which may include presentations, memos, policy briefs, and fact sheets. You may also have the opportunity to attend political briefings, think tank panels, and other events and provide briefings about those events to the team.

The team

The Policy & Government Relations team seeks to understand and influence public policy on issues that advance Deloitte's interests, both directly through interaction with policymakers and indirectly through interaction with those who influence policymakers, such as trade associations, think tanks, and others. Internally to the firm, the team provides guidance and direction to firm leadership on issues of strategic policy importance, helps support efforts to maximize impact across business, regulatory, governmental, and social sectors, and provides policy analysis, political intelligence, and strategic insights to internal stakeholders.
