Work you'll do

As an HR Payroll Clerk for our federal sector client, you will:

  • Assist with monthly/quarterly tax filings for states

  • Process IRS lock-in letters and handle relocation debt letters, ensuring compliance with tax and relocation policies

  • Track rehires and separations, update service records, and document missing information

  • Manage personnel changes including separations, LWOP status, and address updates to ensure records are accurate within the Human Resource (HR) system

  • Process additional payroll actions as necessary

Qualifications

Required:

  • 1+ year of experience with HR operations and financial services related to payroll, personnel action processing, and executive services

  • Experience with providing Human Resource support services to a federal, state, or local government client

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Public Trust clearance for this role

  • Bachelor's Degree

This position is for our Washington, D.C. office. We operate in a hybrid work environment, and Deloitte professionals are expected to collocate in the office or client sites up to 50% of the time.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $62,000 to $102,000.
