Deloitte eDiscovery - Information Governance - Senior Consultant in Washington, District Of Columbia

Deloitte Discovery s Discovery Advisory Services professionals provide strategic, proactive approaches to records and information and discovery management. We help clients mitigating the risks associated with the creation, management, use, and disposition of large volumes of data, including discovery for investigations and litigation.

Our teams guide clients throughout the information lifecycle, both serving as a strategic advisor for clients programs and deploying tactical solutions, such as physical and electronic data remediation. We combine our expertise in records and information management, litigation and compliance, and business operations with our teams analytical skills and cutting-edge technology to offer innovative solutions to our clients complex problems.

Work you ll do

As a Senior Consultant in our Discovery Advisory Services practice you will work with a team of experienced professionals to help clients optimize records and information management or discovery practices and associated business operations. Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Lead and/or support key portions of client engagements, while reporting to project leadership

  • Lead client interviews and oversee information gathering

  • Analyze and document processes and workflows

  • Apply technical and analytical skills to solve issues

  • Compile findings and recommendations

  • Lead preparation of project deliverables

  • Lead preparation of and/or contribute to executive-level presentations and materials

  • Develop and maintain working relationships with client stakeholders

  • Supervise and train project associates


  • 3-5 years of experience with Information Governance, Records and Information Management, or related concepts (such as data/content management, metadata and taxonomy management, data classification, litigation holds, records retention or disposition) OR 3-5 years business/industry experience and very strong demonstrated familiarity with industry-specific business processes

  • Professional demeanor and strong written and oral communication and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with senior-level stakeholders

  • Self-motivated and ability to both self-manage and work with a team to achieve project objectives

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and balance and prioritize multiple responsibilities

  • Critical thinking skills and ability to analyze data to make informed decisions and recommendations. Proficiency in searching for meaningful patterns, trends, and relationships in data and articulating findings for simplified business understanding.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Must be absolutely flexible with the 80% travel requirements of client service projects

  • Bachelor s Degree required

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United Stated without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future


  • Experience in 1 or more of the following technologies:

  • eDiscovery Vendor: Exterro, kCura, Recommind, Atlas, StoredIQ, Kazeon, Nuix, Equivio (Microsoft)

  • Records Management: IBM Filenet, EMC Documentum, OpenText, HP Autonomy, MicroFocus

  • Archive: ZLTI Unified Archive, EMC SourceOne, HP Autonomy, Symantec Enterprise Vault, Bloomberg Vault, Smarsh, Global Relay

  • Proficiency with MS Project

  • Project management skills and/or basic project management experience

  • Ability to describe complex technical concepts and ideas in non-technical terms

  • Prior experience in a professional services firm preferred
