Cybersecurity - Cybersecurity Team Lead

Job Description:

Provides end-to-end management of the Information Security Program for an application development team and executive stakeholders. Directly manages the cybersecurity team and provides programmatic oversight on the planning, design, implementation, execution, and maintenance of an Information Security Program. Oversees Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities and delivery of Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages. Trusted advisor to the government ISSM and executive stakeholders, consolidates and reports on status, risk management, and guides the overall direction of the Information Security Program in coordination with the Cyber Program Manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversees Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) tool management and delivery

  • Ensures effective delivery of Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages

  • Stands up and runs the Information Security Program effectively and ensures programmatic assessment readiness

  • Balances risk and advises the ISSM and key stakeholders to make risk-informed decisions

  • Owns execution of cybersecurity related Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) tasks, synchronization, workflows development, reports, and artifact tracking with ATO deliverables

  • Ensures cyber team success keeps key stakeholders informed on progress and action items

Basic Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship required

  • Top Secret - SCI clearance with eligibility for CI-Poly

  • Must be located within the National Capital Region and able to commute daily to Arlington, VA (3-5 days a week

  • 8 years experience

  • BS or BA degree

Preferred Skills:

  • Initiative taking problem solver who gets results, produces high performing teams, and keeps clients and stakeholders happy

  • Well organized and results oriented with excellent writing, verbal, and soft skills

  • Able to quickly parse through large datasets in Microsoft Excel using scripts or other methods

  • Able to accurately summarize and translate cybersecurity requirements into key action items for senior executives and IT Operations teams

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, and Project

  • DoD 8570/8140 IAM Level II certified; SANS, ITIL, AWS, CCSK, CNSS, Knowledge Management and Project Management certifications are also a plus

  • DoD experience successfully managing cybersecurity teams to achieve and maintain ATOs

  • DoD experience successfully leading DoD Information Security Programs

  • Experienced in mapping, implementing, interpreting, and documenting RMF security controls

  • Experienced managing the eMASS cybersecurity management tool

  • Experience developing and submitting at least six (6) ATO packages

  • Three (3) or more years of experience as an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE), Information System Security (ISSO), Security Controls Assessor (SCA), or Authorizing Official Designated Representative (AODR) are preferred

  • Familiarity with CMMI, CMMC, ITIL and/or project management practices are a plus

    This role requires you to be working onsite a minimum of 3 days per week.
