Deloitte Services LLP is searching for a Research Manager, Media & Entertainment for the (the TMT Center). We're recruiting an experienced Media and Entertainment research manager to join our world-class team. Bring your M&E industry knowledge, research expertise, and superb writing skills to the TMT Center.
We're looking for a researcher who stays ahead of rapid change in M&E. Business models are evolving, driven by technological change, competition, and new regulations. Examples include:
Advertising and marketing evolution
Data privacy and its implications for ads and social media
Streaming video business models
Your ability to explore topics like these, and to anticipate future change, will help Deloitte lead the market and advise our clients.
Work you'll do:
The Research Manager will work closely with the TMT Center's Executive Director and Deloitte's senior practice leaders to develop research that grabs the attention of M&E executives. You'll use quantitative research surveys, interviews, and secondary research to create insights. You'll share those insights through in-depth research reports, short articles, bylines, presentations, interviews, videos, podcasts, infographics, and webinars.
The role in detail:
Write original and insightful thought leadership in multiple formats.
Lead and manage research projects from ideation through execution, in partnership with Deloitte executives, subject matter specialists, marketing, and PR.
Use statistical analysis to develop unique insights from surveys and other data sets.
Conduct qualitative research, including interviews, case studies, and scenario development.
Ensure that research is developed using strong qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
Build strong relationships with subject matter experts within Deloitte and and the marketplace.
Integrate vendor-provided elements, third-party interviews, and publicly available information into research projects.
Possess and maintain excellent knowledge of M&E trends in the U.S. and globally
Required experience and capabilities:
At least 5 years of experience in research and thought leadership focused on Media & Entertainment at the following types of companies: research firm, M&E company, professional services firm, or creative agency.
Excellent and highly productive writer. Sole or primary author of an extensive portfolio of thought leadership publications. Ability to synthesize complex trends and explain them in clear, concise, vibrant prose. Writing samples required.
Deep experience using quantitative, qualitative, and secondary research methods.
Proven project manager, with track record of completing complex projects on time.
Poised presenter and communicator with experience presenting work to senior executives.
Deep knowledge of M&E, and the discipline to stay ahead of fast-moving trends.
Ability to quickly grasp and explain how technological and social change can create new business opportunities for M&E companies.
Conscientious, hard-working, and deadline-driven.
Ability to work independently in virtual teams.
Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills.
Bachelor's degree from a top university. MBA or PhD preferred.
