We are looking for a Database SME with at least 6+ years of experience with multiple DB flavor skill-set with hands on technical skills and having at least 3+ years working on AWS cloud platform. As an AWS Cloud DBA, you will be responsible for providing support for all activities related to the Database Operations, Project Support activities, Disaster recovery planning and execution etc. for all the databases operating on Amazon Web Services (AWS). To be successful, you must have thorough understanding of database concepts, AWS Cloud Computing concepts and experience in deploying complex solutions, and be an innovative problem-solver. Furthermore, you must have the ability and discipline to work and succeed in a fast-paced and organizationally complex environment, effectively adapt to rapidly changing technologies, and lead and manage projects.

Work you'll do/Responsibilities

  • Proactively monitor production databases for Performance and Stability

  • Participate in on-call production support on a rotation basis

  • Install, configure, patch and upgrade Databases in AWS cloud

  • Provide DBA support for Enterprise Releases Deployments and Projects

  • Provide technical guidance to software developers in data modeling and performance optimization techniques

  • Automate administrative processes using scripting languages and utilities

  • Follow established standards. Document new processes and procedures when appropriate

  • Promptly respond to Incidents and build/update Knowledge Base

  • Ongoing review and completion of ServiceNow tickets related to the database systems

  • Provide on-call support

Qualifications

Required

  • Extensive multi Cloud Database skill-set in managing at least 3 DB flavors - Document DB, Dynamo DB, Postgress SQL, MySQL, MS-SQL, ORACLE and Redshift databases

  • Bachelor-level degree in engineering, IT, data communications, telecommunications, computer science, or equivalent educational or professional experience and/or qualifications

  • Extensive database experience with RDS, AWS Redshift, Aurora databases

  • Quick learner, self-starter with strong troubleshooting and communication skills

  • Knowledge of day to day database operations, deployments and development on AWS cloud platform

  • Hands-on DB and Server troubleshooting experience

  • Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications

  • Demonstrated expert experience in Performance Tuning skills with the Cloud Databases

  • Knowledge of Linux Shell Scripting or Python

  • Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query response environment

  • Familiarity with Monitoring tools such as Datadog, AWS CloudWatch, etc., is required

  • Ability to multi-task and work independently on projects

  • Flexible in work scheduling and ready to work over weekends and late hours

  • Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred

  • AWS Certification preferred

  • Multi Database Skills - Document DB, Dynamo DB, Postgres SQL, MongoDB, MySQL, MS-SQL, ORACLE and Redshift databases
