Deloitte New Business Innovation/Assets Risk Manager in Tacoma, Washington

Deloitte's Government and Public Services (GPS) Quality and Risk Management (QRM) group is seeking a Risk Manager with extensive experience in evaluation of risk and understanding of contracting processes for technology assets and new hybrid businesses comprised of technology-enabled offerings and products.

Work You Will Do:

As a Risk Manager for New Business Innovation/Assets on our team, you will:

  • Work with key product and offering portfolio partners to execute new hybrid business risk assessment to ensure key risks are identified, with proper mitigation and controls in place prior to launch, and/or identify key risks and controls that need to be monitored after launch

  • Intersect with various functions including asset certification PMO, sales, legal, finance, independence, and delivery to act as a strategic advisor to help identify risks for new hybrid businesses and products

  • Provide risk guidance to asset sponsor throughout the asset lifecycle. Provide necessary challenge to and/or modifications to product constructs, if they create incremental risk to Deloitte

  • Work with offering portfolio leaders to understand the hybrid business and asset roadmaps and pipeline to identity initiatives that should be channeled through the new business risk assessment process

  • Actively monitor and report on hybrid business and asset risk profiles, highlighting risks that warrant most attention, including providing executive risk reporting to Senior Management

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to offering portfolio and asset leaders on risk matters, such as IP ownership and protection, third-party and open source software component obligations, license agreement development, client confidential information protection, independence matters, issues that are trending in the marketplace such as proposed regulatory policies (domestic or otherwise) and the latest technology related risks affecting the markets

  • Educate and mentor Risk colleagues on foundational asset licensing and technology-driven solutions, focused on building awareness and capacity to provide guidance and support to the practice

  • Support strategic initiatives pertaining to development/updating of processes, tools, and templates to improve risk management and contracting practices and to help drive adoption of such processes, tools, and templates

    Qualifications:

    Required:

  • 8 years of product risk management or related consulting experience

  • Experience in risk management practices including identifying, assessing, managing and reporting risks

  • Experience with product development including new business and product lifecycles and risks associated with each phase of development and launch

  • Experience with writing and reviewing scope of work documents with a focus on incorporating actionable and measurable guidance to address specific risks around delivery execution

  • Ability to influence a diverse set of stakeholders and driving common outcomes with a strong understanding of commercial contracting processes, including terms and conditions

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred:

  • Master's degree preferred

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills, verbal/written communication, and collaboration skills to lead an environment driven by customer service and teamwork

  • Excellent leadership skills including ability to prioritize critical needs, act decisively, and handle a high volume of complex tasks within a given timeframe

    The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $176,000 to $294,000.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
