Work You ll DoHelp clients develop tax-aligned compensation and benefits programs that address their global and domestic needs. Work with clients to streamline their programs while reviewing tax effectiveness, risks, and costs. Assist clients with developing the strategies, processes, and technologies that affect their staff and operations on a worldwide scale. Responsible for reviewing internal resources and working directly with clients to provide expatriate and foreign-national tax compliance and consulting services to multi-national clients. Review individual income tax returns, conduct US tax law research, review tax consulting projects, and assist in the administration of company tax programs. Utilize knowledge in expatriate and foreign national tax compliance, tax equalization policy implementation/consulting, and monitoring of international assignee populations of multi-national clients. Utilize experience with the individual income tax issues and tax law including foreign national and expatriate issues, foreign tax compliance and the tax equalization process. Assist client with payroll reporting for expatriates to properly account for relocation benefits paid either to the individuals or to a third-party on behalf of the individuals. #LI-DNI RequirementsBachelor's degree (or higher) in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).Eighteen months of experience in expatriate and foreign national tax compliance and equalization policy implementation.Experience must include eighteen months of:Advising on individual income tax issues pertaining to expatriates and foreign nationals, tax compliance in jurisdictions outside of the US, and the tax equalization process, and applying taxation concepts to social security implications associated with international assignments;Assessing clients' stock option plans and the impact on U.S. payroll reporting;Reviewing relocation benefits paid to or on behalf of expatriates, and determining the appropriate reporting and impact on individuals' U.S. payroll reporting;Determining foreign countries' tax reporting requirements in relation to U.S. tax law reporting events and applying revenue code sections and income tax treaties to host country tax laws for the expatriate and the inpatriate population;Preparing assignment cost analysis, advising on home and host country tax implications, coordinating with relocation vendors and local payroll, and conducting pre-departure orientation and repatriation meetings with clients from a US tax perspective;Preparing estimated tax liabilities for different assignment scenarios to assist clients with decision-making processes for the assignment set-up;Assisting clients with on-going tax support for expatriates and foreign nationals from both the payroll and social security compliance perspectives, and reviewing and advising actual and hypothetical tax withholdings from the individuals for both regular compensation and supplementary payment;Mentoring junior staff and interns and collaborating with both on and offshore teams on the compliance process workflow;Monitoring project financials and billing processes, and maintaining client relationships and reviewing processes and value-adding projects for the clients' global mobility programs; andAnd utilizing tax research tools, including BNA and CCH, to provide tax compliance and consulting services to global business travelers, and utilizing tax software, including CCH Axcess and Global fx to compute taxes, conduct research and integrate with internal tracking tools.
