Product Development Manager

We are looking for talented individuals with an innovative mindset and technical skillset to join our growing team and work as part of I&P Product Engineering using the latest UI technology to create applications.
Work You'll Do
Product delivery: A Product Development Manager (PDM) is accountable for managing and delivering products through several phases, which includes taking an idea, from concept to prototype to minimal viable product, and final release of the product into the market. The PDM is also responsible for driving the product and marketing efforts to support the company's overall strategy and goals.
Agile practices: The PDM is expected to follow the agile methodology and scrum practices to bring the product to life using our suite of application lifecycle management tools.
Grooming and Estimation: Work with the product team to gather and prioritize the functionality to be built and delivered, collaborate with the architecture team, UX team, business sponsors and owners, and follow our software QA method and phase gates.
Architecture and software licensing: Work with the solution architects to refine the planned architecture and confirm the licensing is in place for the development of unique products.
Manage scope and budget: The PDM is responsible for release/ schedule planning, cost estimation, building and organizing the team, and running the daily scrum meetings to confirm the project stays within scope.
Status updates: The PDM reviews the product delivery throughout the product development lifecycle and the appropriate phase gates with legal, marketing, risk, and business stakeholders to confirm the customer satisfaction goals are met thereby helping to inform leadership about product investment decisions.
Phase Gates: Create and review the materials necessary to move the products through the product phase gates and into production. Schedule and conduct gate meetings. Pre-read relevant leaders in on the gate and record the outcomes of the gate meetings. Perform remediation and issue resolution stemming from gate meetings.
Team management: The PDM is expected to work with both local, and geographically distributed teams of various sizes to complete the product development.
Audit: Support the audit needs for SCO2 and TCF by maintaining clear and logical documentation that meets the standards set by the I&P organization
Tools and Technologies: Promote the correct use of the tools, technologies, and processes I&P has established for the design build and release of software
People: Support plans for staff growth, role expansion, and inter team mentoring. Execute on rewards and recognition for staff. Provide counseling /coaching, oversight, mentoring and support for all levels of staff. Contribute to performance feedback and training. Foster and communicate workplace culture and code of conduct.
Assessment: Evaluate performance against talent framework.
Recruiting: Manage and maintain the plans for staff levels and staff distribution of resources across I&P workstreams. Liaise with I&P groups on staffing plans aligned to roadmaps. Actively participate in retention activities providing input and guidance into the staffing process.
Relationship building: Develop, maintain, and leverage internal contacts across Deloitte businesses and other I&P teams. Facilitate communications between multiple groups, ensuring fluidity and collaboration between teams.
Innovation: Stay connected to technical market trends to help provide input on future innovative solutions.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related STEM field or equivalent experience is required
Minimum 6 years relevant work experience in engineering development management, project and product management, and/or software development
5+ years of relevant technology experience working in a technical or functional lead role
Experience leading teams and technology engagements
Experience designing, building, and supporting deploying customer facing products and solutions
Experience managing client relationships
Prior experience using the Atlassian toolset for sprint execution and status monitoring
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Ability to think creatively, problem solve and work independently on multiple engagements
Ability to manage and motivate team members at all levels
Ability to navigate ambiguity and manage competing priorities. Problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
Good project and time management skills
Understanding of Deloitte Consulting organization and specific client service challenges they often face

Travel up to 20% (while 20% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice)
Pre-sales, proposal, and RFP experience
Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Rapid Application, other)
Knowledge and understanding of CI/CD processes and deployment tools
