The ask:

We're looking for a Experience Strategist to join our first-of-its-kind Experience Strategy team positioned at the heart of the Deloitte Digital Studio.

Humble, creative, collaborative, and courageous, our Experience Strategists are united by a passion for improving the human experience across our areas of expertise. They work at the intersection of design, brand purpose, and innovation to design holistic, human-centered ecosystems for organizations engage their customers within. They are both pragmatists and imaginative thinkers - capable of blending human-centric strategies, business consulting, and creativity to both structure and advocate for the impact of design across experience engagements in digital spaces and beyond.

As an Experience Strategist, you'll get to flex a range of creative and strategic muscles by owning research, reframing problems, designing frameworks and toolkits, building prototypes, briefing in product teams and ultimately ensuring that we provide our clients with thoughtful growth strategies, products, services, and experiences that deliver sustainable, profitable growth.

    The skillset:

  • You are humble, self-aware, self-motivated and communicative.

  • You are fluent in human-centered product thinking, interaction design, visual sense, prototyping & technical design processes.

  • You have 2 years of experience in design strategy, service design, experience design, product strategy or UX strategy.

  • You have a portfolio of exceptional work that exemplifies process, including research, validation, prototyping, and design systems.

  • You have experience delivering end-to-end product transformations with major clients.

  • You have experience facilitating workshops in both virtual and IRL settings.

  • You are conversant in common design and whiteboarding tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, InVision, Miro, Mural.

  • Employ a systems mindset to craft robust design systems that scale effectively and enable delightful experiences.

  • You love to collaborate, iterate and facilitate, but can deliver solo when it's time to put on your headphones and get it done.

  • You have experience and history supporting the development of cohesive, compelling strategic visions for experience, product, service and business.

  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • You have strong presentation and group facilitation skills.

  • You have strong negotiating skills with the ability to be a thought-partner for clients.

    Bonus points if:

  • You have experience building digital products or services in partnership with engineering, UX, brand, design and/or business teams.

  • experience working in agile methodology.

  • You have adjacent expertise in fields like (but definitely not limited to): brand strategy, content strategy, hands-on design of any stripe, storytelling or marketing, cultural anthropology, behavioral economics, or anything else you think sets you apart. We love weird origin stories, so you tell us what matters.

    Your responsibilities will look like:


  • Work with external and internal partners to clearly identify business, project and research objectives.

  • Earn trust and confidence of key internal and external project stakeholders

  • Guide client ideation sessions, develop design documentation and wireframing concepts for experience ecosystems.

  • Scope, plan and conduct primary, secondary and analogous research.

  • Explain experience design processes and principles to clients in a way that is meaningful and applicable to their given industry.

  • Contribute to the discovery and definition processes, connecting ideation with insights to ensure the final execution exceeds client goals and objectives.

  • Lead qualitative and quantitative research (both evaluative and generative) - including but not limited to user & stakeholder interviews, surveys, card sorts, A/B testing and usability testing.

  • Analyze and synthesize research to: clearly and concisely identify insights, reframe problems, validate (or invalidate hypotheses) and articulate your reasoning to a broad range of inter-disciplinary stakeholders.

  • Understand, taxonomize, and synthesize client challenges and opportunities, then communicate them through compelling and concise stories and artifacts - including but not limited to user journeys, personas, benchmark reports.

  • Become your Studio project team's go-to source for experience design strategy.

    • Own the strategic direction for our clients and internal teams by identifying opportunities, articulating audience and business needs, crafting actionable visions, and collaborating on solution delivery.

    • Independently design and participate in client workshops, leading primary user research and validation testing throughout the design process.


  • Use design thinking approaches to guide the articulation of a project vision, design principles and/or experience pillars.

  • Develop and run client workshops.

  • Independently ideate digital product and service concepts, user flows, information architecture, future state journeys, service blueprints, experience ecosystems and executional tactics across multiple channels that deliver on the vision for project.

  • Contribute to pitch decks, project briefs, insights presentations and prototype development.

  • Validate strategies and insights with prototyping, bringing together the best of iterative design processes with more traditional top-down consulting-led approaches.

  • Identify and develop key metrics for tracking the efficacy of new solutions.


  • Collaborate with inter-disciplinary teams with colleagues from Applied Design, Brand, Product, UX, UI, Engineering, Content, and Advertising practice areas.

  • Drive contribution and alignment from multiple stakeholders, whether clients, third-party or larger ecosystem player.

  • Clearly and confidently present your own work in various formats ranging from Powerpoint and Keynote presentations to word document briefs and collaborative tools such as Figma, Mural or Miro.

  • Manage small accounts and projects with oversight from Studio Senior Manager / Director.
