Deloitte has launched a new social innovation organization called the Deloitte Health Equity Institute (DHEI). DHEI is a data-driven pro bono services, philanthropic, and knowledge development hub within Deloitte's Center for Health Solutions. DHEI draws on Deloitte's array of capabilities to activate health equity across the United States, helping to realize our firm's Purpose by moving the field for public good and advancing equitable health outcomes at scale.
To achieve our aspiration, DHEI is focused on addressing three root causes that prevent equitable health outcomes: 1) Racism and bias inside and outside the health care system, 2) Deep inequities in non-medical Drivers of Health, and 3) Structural flaws in the health system. To drive change across the three root causes, DHEI is focused on activating key decision makers to accelerate change, strengthening local ecosystems to advance equitable communities, and driving health equity innovation and learning across the US.
The Data & Analytics Manager is responsible for overseeing DHEI's data and analytics strategy, with an emphasis on applying ethical data science principles to enhance Deloitte's analytical tools to advance health equity and to generate the most effective analytical conclusions. In the role, the Data Manager will shape DHEI's data and analytics approach, apply their expertise in data science to strengthen and refine Deloitte's array of existing analytical tools to advance health equity, derive analytics-driven insights to address community challenges and support pro bono engagements related to health equity and manage a team of off-shore data scientists to deliver on engagement needs.
Lead all efforts related to data science and analytics within DHEI
Lead development and execution of strategic plans, in collaboration with DHEI's Executive Director and team members, to use advanced analytics to drive toward health equity
Work closely with Deloitte's engineering, business, and product development teams to evaluate use cases for fit with existing and new AI and advanced analytics algorithms in a way that advances health equity and that is motivated by equity-inspired principles
Work across multiple tools / analytical solutions to ensure that ethical and equity-based principles are applied consistently and effectively
Guide/shape/advise on product requirements and roadmaps for analytical tools
Serve as data science expert among team members and stakeholders, helping to identify optimal ways to apply data science expertise to existing and new solutions
Ensure quality, timely, and impactful data and insights are reported by DHEI
Execute ongoing project management to support in-flight programs and existing assets
Support the discovery of insights and identify opportunities to apply data science principles to improve health equity
Evaluate data quality and promote data governance best practices, including confirming that data assets are monitored, and governance principles are upheld
Drive internal alignment on data and analytics strategy, including dynamically assessing opportunities to apply data and analytics to support DHEI's goals with institute team members
Apply data and analytics to support DHEI grantees and partners in health equity-focused initiatives
This role is evolving, and opportunities to expand responsibilities and take on more challenging tasks will be readily available. A high degree of flexibility and ability to handle ambiguity and changing priorities are required.
6+ years of professional experience, focused on Data Strategy, Product Management, and Business Transformation.
Track record of high performance; consultative and strategic mindset; ability to navigate ambiguous circumstances and complex structures
Commitment to bring an active anti-racist perspective and DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) lens
Commitment to applying data science principles in a way that accounts for equity-driven considerations and that maximizes the trustworthiness of the solutions developed
Exceptional working skillset in data-science and the development of predictive and AI/ML-based analytics
Understanding of health equity, social determinants of health, and health outcomes
Operational knowledge of population health analytics principles, biostatistics, and predictive and machine learning analytics
Strong analytical, research and project management skills
Strong ability to communicate strategy to an executive audience and external stakeholders
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize activities and manage to aggressive deliverable due dates and workplan
Proven leadership, teaming skills, and stakeholder management skills
