Deloitte Big Data/Open Source Intelligence Senior Consultant in Seattle, Washington

The Senior Consultant will be responsible for collecting, organizing, and analyzing large sets of external data (known as Big Data or Open Source Intelligence/OSINT) to discover patterns and detect signals of emerging events that may present a risk or opportunity. The Senior Consultant will curate and interpret external signals of disruption across multiple risk domains (financial, operational, regulatory, technological, etc.) to provide insights that help our clients anticipate and respond to adversity that impacts their strategy, brand, or reputation.

Experience with analytics platforms that mine data and provide insights on consumer, market, brand health, social media, and/or customer experience is preferred. Knowledge or experience with data science techniques using AWS native Cloud AI services (e.g. Comprehend) is helpful, but not required.

The Senior Consultants' focus will be on bringing data, analytics, and technology together with our deep expertise in multiple industries to drive OSINT insights and automation efficiencies.

The Team

The Brand & Reputation Risk team helps to protect and enhance Brand Reputation & Trust by utilizing Cloud AI analytics to discover, analyze and monitor emerging risks and opportunities impacting an organization's strategy, brand and reputation. The team utilizes cognitive analytics capabilities through Deloitte's proprietary technology platforms to dynamically sense big data and provide intelligence on a broad range of risk domains resulting from an enterprise's activities, their ecosystem, and events emerging in their external environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a key contributor to the planning and direction of a project and effectively prioritize goals

  • Utilize OSINT analytics tools to derive actionable insights from custom ontologies

  • Curate signals to filter noise/data smog and prioritize events

  • Connect and collaborate with subject matter experts across multiple industries

  • Communicates analysis and insights in a clear, succinct manner and produces leadership-quality deliverables. Assists in developing executive level presentations and reports.

    • Make impactful contributions to internal discussions on emerging events

    Qualifications:

    Required:

  • 2+ years of hands on experience

  • Bachelors degree in Analytics, Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science

  • Completed courses in Analytics, Machine Learning, or Statistics

  • Familiarity with cloud computing services (AWS or GCP preferred)

  • Detail-oriented and well-organized with the ability to handle several projects/clients simultaneously

  • Ability to synthesize large sets of information, extract insights, and develop recommendations

    • Systems thinking skills (able to connect dots across different concepts and industries to generate new insights)

    Preferred:

  • Ability to succeed in both team-based and independent environments

  • High level of proficiency in developing executive level communications/presentations

  • Familiarity and fluency with strategic and risk frameworks and conceptual constructs

  • Knowledge of growth & expansion strategies and scenario/trend analysis
