About the Cloud Engineering Team: Our Cloud Engineering team focuses on enabling our clients' end-to-end journey from on-premise to cloud, with opportunities in areas such as Cloud Strategy, Operating Model Transformation, Cloud Development, Cloud Integration & APIs, Cloud Migration, Cloud Infrastructure & Engineering, and Cloud Managed Services. We help our clients see the transformational capabilities of cloud as an opportunity for business enablement and competitive advantage. Cloud Engineering supports our clients as they improve agility and resilience and identify opportunities to reduce IT operations spend through automation by enabling cloud. We accelerate our clients towards a technology-driven future, leveraging vendor solutions and Deloitte-developed software products, tools, and accelerators.
The Role: As a Cloud Native GCP Full Stack Architect, you will focus on selling and delivering cloud solutions using AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. As a key member of the Architecture group, you will ensure success in building and migrating applications, software, and services on public cloud platforms. You will promote public cloud internally to sales and delivery teams to drive growth, educate customers on the value proposition of public cloud, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure successful deployment in the cloud. Additionally, you will capture and share best practices within the public cloud solutions architect community and contribute to public cloud customer-facing publications such as whitepapers. This role requires location either in San Francisco or San Jose and is on site each day.
Responsibilities:
Build and migrate applications, software, and services on public cloud platforms.
Promote public cloud internally to sales and delivery teams.
Educate customers on the value proposition of public cloud.
Participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure successful cloud deployment.
Capture and share best practices within the public cloud solutions architect community.
Contribute to public cloud customer-facing publications such as whitepapers.
Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates.
Act as a technical liaison between customers, delivery teams, and support.
Qualifications: Required:
Self-starter with in-depth hands-on experience with large-scale implementations of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or AWS or Azure.
Knowledge of J2EE, .NET, Python, Ruby, or Perl and cloud technologies development languages and tools.
Direct experience migrating applications from the enterprise to public cloud providers (e.g., Amazon, Google, or Microsoft).
Experience helping development teams build and deploy microservices-based applications in public cloud.
Experience with Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment tools and processes.
Understanding of emerging technologies and end-user needs.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to learn new information quickly.
Must be able to be on site each day in San Jose for this role.
Ability to travel up to 50% based on client requirements.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field.
Preferred:
10+ years of overall experience, including a minimum of 5 years in large-scale enterprise, full life cycle architecture in the professional IT/Software Development services industry.
10+ years of experience with Java/J2EE technologies and architecting solutions using web technologies.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Proficiency in DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Terraform.
Strong understanding of networking and security best practices in the cloud.
Experience with serverless architecture and cloud-native services.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Certification in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Azure is highly desirable.

This compensation range is specific to California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $159,375 to $265,625.
