The Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) offering portfolio pairs leading acquisition and divestiture experience with broad global scale and industry and functional depth.Driving a deal to value creation requires identifying a critical sequence of activities and milestones but also lining up the resources and tools to achieve them. Within our M&A offering portfolios, our M&A Finance offering provides the functional expertise required to unlock deal value and execute issue-free integrations within the Finance function. Our practitioners combine transaction-driven experience with deep finance strategy and process knowledge to provide clients with the tools and strategic insights to navigate change and capture value.
Work you’ll do
Senior Consultants in Deloitte’s M&A offering portfolio serve as trusted advisors to their clients in both the corporate and private equity space. They synthesize overall strategy by analyzing a wide variety of solutions, selecting the most relevant tools/techniques to meet specific client requirements such as business case, pricing, or complex financial analysis, and interpreting and reporting on outputs.
M&A | Restructuring and Cost Transformation
Our mandate is to enable our clients’ ability to grow, optimize, and fundamentally change the nature of their business and competitive position. We do this via M&A, divestiture, and restructuring services from beginning to end. Our Offering enables pre-deal and post-deal integration, divestiture, and major restructuring/cost transformation activities to achieve/exceed deal value, synergy targets, or strategic cost takeout objectives.
A candidate must meet the minimum experience in one or more of the below:
Must have M&A or M&A Service Delivery Experience in the following areas:
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients in both the corporate and private equity space; synthesize overall strategy by analyzing a wide variety of solutions, selecting the most relevant tools/techniques to meet specific client requirements such as business case, pricing, or complex financial analysis, and interpreting and reporting on outputs.
Provide corporate and private equity buyers with a broad continuum of advisory services to enable our clients’ ability to grow, optimize, and fundamentally change the nature of their business and competitive position via M&A, divestiture, and restructuring services from beginning to end.
Enable pre-deal and post-deal integration, divestiture, and major restructuring/cost transformation activities to achieve/exceed deal value, synergy targets, or strategic cost takeout objectives including: target identification and pre-deal due diligence, M&A roadmaps, strategies, and synergy targets, developing Day 1 projects and plans and post Day 1 planning and execution.
Provide the M&A expertise required to unlock deal value and execute issue-free integrations within the Finance function; provide clients with the tools and strategic insights to navigate change and capture value.
Provide industry insight and analytical support using data mining, pattern matching, data visualization, and predictive modelling tools to produce analysis and algorithms that enables pre-deal and post-deal integration, divestiture, and major restructuring/cost transformation activities to achieve/exceed deal value, synergy targets, or strategic cost takeout objectives.
Recommend software and advanced analytics products created from ideas generated within the Deloitte organization to help clients proactively plan and implement post-merger integration activities as well as manage complex carve out projects.
Lead research and analysis to measure and articulate the value of organizational activities, programs, and investments and provide actionable using methodologies to measure, govern, and evaluate performance.
Create business case decision models and customer financial models and execute process mapping to optimize clients' operational productivity, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
Conduct detailed analyses in focused specialty areas to draw conclusions, and develop pertinent and insightful recommendations based on structured frameworks.
Identify and record key deadlines for the workstream in the client engagement to ensure clear communication, organization, and coordination between multiple parties; construct a work plan around them that will quickly and effectively achieve client goals whilst also allowing for reasonable work time and unexpected delays or pivots.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint).
Ability to work independently; lead small teams focused on specific work streams of larger projects.
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
Eagerness to mentor junior staff.
An advanced degree.
