Deloitte & Touche LLP seeks a Audit & Assurance Senior Manager in San Jose, CA.

Work You ll Do

Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple engagements. Involved with the management of legal, regulatory, and accounting issues that arise during audit engagements. Responsible for the supervision and management of services to our clients, including preparation of audit strategy and business plans, setting budgets, scheduling audits, selecting staff and assigning workloads, and financial reporting. Develop and motivate all engagement staff and provide them with counseling and career guidance. Assist with overall project management for audit engagements including preparation of project proposals for engagements and ensure that accounting and auditing services are delivered per client requirements and industry standards. Perform audits of financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS). Manage engagement budget, staffing, and scheduling issues as well as the timely and quality delivery of services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).

  • Six years of accounting and auditing experience, including the technology industry.

  • Experience must include six years of:

  • Utilizing accounting software, journal entries, and automated tools to research accounting issues;

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of multiple engagements;

  • Researching complex accounting issues related to client engagements;

  • Assisting with proposal preparation and identifying new business opportunities and add-on sales;

  • Managing IPO filing processes for clients, including performing technical accounting research, drafting registration statements, and coordinating between various parties involved in IPO;

  • Interfacing directly with client management executives; and

  • Managing, training, and mentoring teams of junior staff members.

  • In the alternative, the employer is willing to accept a Master's degree and 4 years of experience in as stated above.

  • Experience must include two years of:

  • Performing audits utilizing auditing techniques including risk assessment, audit scoping, devising audit approach, controls testing, and substantive audit testing including sampling techniques and

  • Auditing in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) standards, US Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) standards, AICPA, and SOX to produce high-quality audits.

  • Must possess: CPA license or passage of all four parts of CPA examination.

  • Position requires 80% travel.
