Deloitte & Touche LLP seeks an Advisory Senior Consultant in San Jose, CA.

Work You ll Do

Identify and evaluate complex business and technology risks, internal controls that mitigate risks, and related opportunities for internal control improvement. Assist in the selection and tailoring of approaches, methods, and tools to support service offerings or industry projects. Use technology-based tools or methodologies to review, design, and/or implement products and services. Construct and assess high-level and detailed security programs translating business needs and regulatory requirements into cost effective and risk appropriate controls. Identify opportunities to improve engagement profitability. Understand clients business environment and basic risk management approaches. Develop information security strategies and plans based upon generally accepted security standards. Utilize knowledge of business processes, internal control risk management, IT controls, business and information technology management processes, and market trends on client engagements. Generate innovative ideas and participate in decision making with engagement management. Build and nurture strong client relationships. Coach and mentor junior team members. Will commute within the San Jose, California area to consult with clients concerning the above job duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Math or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).

  • Eighteen months' experience assessing clients' security, technology, and organizational risks.

  • Experience must include eighteen months of:

  • Conducting enterprise information security risk assessments in compliance with security frameworks and standards, including ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST CSF, and PCI-DSS;

  • Performing and coordinating security assessment testing to meet the requirements of multiple compliance organizations;

  • Designing and developing Information Security policies, standards and procedures;

  • Performing third party risk assessments, including conducting security reviews of vendors, reviewing contracts, and working closely with Engineering, Legal, Sourcing and Sales teams;

  • Conducting gap assessments for vendor security controls, exercising risk-based judgment on deviations, and recommending appropriate mitigation countermeasures;

  • Conducting assessments of overall risks, creating action plans for remediation of gaps, and communicating critical risks to clients;

  • Implementing security awareness training programs;

  • Implementing security solutions to prevent cyber attacks; and

  • Participating in the full project lifecycle, including independently leading projects to completion.

  • Less than 10% travel outside of normal commuting distance.
