Information Assurance/Security Senior Analyst

Information assurance security specialists are in charge of developing and implementing security measures for their organization. Information assurance security specialists are responsible for analyzing existing security procedures and suggesting changes to upper management for increased efficient and extra security. Information assurance security specialists recommend new technologies or policy modifications. Information assurance security specialists also research security measures and concerns to develop effective strategies to mitigate security risks, as well as develop systems and techniques to handle sensitive information in a confidential way. Information assurance security specialists create and review security assessments to compare previous and current risk performance. Information assurance security specialists minimize security threats by examining infrastructure and devices, identifying security flaws, and using control analysis to follow up with a prompt solution. In addition, Information assurance security specialists modify permissions in software packages to prevent non-authorized use, as well as monitor firewalls and switches to prevent data loss, and identity theft. Information assurance security specialists should have an understanding of user authentication methods and project management experience.

Work you ll do

Incident and Problem Management Specialist

  • Support incident and problem management processes by providing proactive, continuous monitoring of infrastructure capabilities and performance

  • Ensure proper investigation of identified problems and respond to all service outages to include the following:

a. System administration

b. Network

c. Telecommunications

d. Virtual administration

e. Web middleware administration

f. Database administration

g. Storage Area Network (SAN) administration

h. Cluster Management

  • Respond on a 24x7x365 basis to incidents impacting service availability

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of technology consulting or other relevant industry experience

  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize workload and meet deadlines

  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation creation tools, as well as Internet research tools


  • Degree in computer science, information systems, or other technology-related field

  • Experience implementing large-scale custom development integration projects

  • Experience working with business users to gather requirements

  • Prior experience writing functional and technical specifications, and communicating technical requirements

  • Experience in developing design documents

  • Software development experience using object-oriented languages

  • Security
