Work you ll do
Deloitte Consulting seeks qualified Senior Manager candidates interested in joining our Higher Education practice. Our team works with large research universities, community colleges and top tier private schools. Our engagements range from high level strategy work to transformational planning and full-cycle systems design and implementation. Specifically, we work on cost reduction, revenue enhancement, benchmarking, shared services, strategic sourcing, business process re-engineering and strategic planning projects.
Senior Managers are expected to contribute to the firm's growth and development in a variety of ways, including:
Engagement Management: Lead engagement planning and budgeting; mobilize and manage engagement teams; define deliverable structure and content; facilitate buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client; direct on-time, quality delivery of work products; manage engagement economics and engagement risk.
Client Management: Manage day to day interactions with executive clients and sponsors.
Business Development: Develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at key clients; organize and lead pursuit teams; participate and lead aspects of the proposal development process; contribute to the development of proposal pricing strategies.
Practice Development & Eminence: Develop practical solutions and methodologies; develop "thoughtware" and "point-of-view" documents; participate in public speaking events; get published in industry periodicals.
People Development: Perform role of counselor and coach; provide input and guidance into the staffing process; actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities; provide leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local offices.
Our Strategy practice brings together several key capabilities that will allow us to architect integrated programs that transform our clients businesses, including Corporate & Business Unit Strategy, Technology Strategy & Insights, Enterprise Model Design, Enterprise Cloud Strategy and Business Transformation.
Strategy professionals will serve as trusted advisors to our clients, working with them to make clear data-driven choices about where to play and how to win, in order to drive growth and enterprise value.
Strategy will help our clients:
Identify strategies for growth and value creation
Develop the appropriate business models, operating models, and capabilities to support their strategic vision
Maximize the ROI on technology investments and leverage technology and Cloud trends to architect future business strategies
A minimum of 8 years relevant consulting and/or higher education industry experience
A Bachelor's degree
Ability to travel 100%
Experience leading teams focused on specific work streams of larger projects; eagerness to mentor junior staff
Demonstrated experience in business development while concurrently overseeing client deliverables.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel)
Experience working on at least three (3) large scale transformation projects in the higher education space
An advanced degree
Experience that demonstrates high degree of self-direction, initiative and motivation; sense of urgency to meet established deadlines
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
Prior experience identifying effective business process and technologysolutions to meet key client needs, based on internal / external research andleading practices.
Exceptional attention to detail and proven ability to identify process improvement opportunities
Ability to support development of others by delivering key performancefeedback, coaching and demonstrating role-model behavior.
Experience presenting to clients or other decision makers to present and sell ideas to various audiences (technical and non-technical)
