DeloitteConsulting's GPS Engagement Controller group is comprised of client serviceprofessionals specializing in program management, risk mitigation, account andengagement economics, profitability optimization, and compliance servicesthroughout the full project lifecycle, from the pursuit phase through projectcloseout. GPS Engagement Controllers support client engagement team(s) byassisting with initiating and controlling organizational aspects of projects.Their greatest value is in the understanding and application of engagementbusiness and financial processes both to individual engagements and to clientaccounts.

Work you ll do

GPS Analyst Engagement Controllers (ECs) are responsible for supporting one or moreengagement teams through the engagement lifecycle by utilizing standard programmanagement processes and budgetary controls. On any given assignment, Analyst ECsmay be responsible for the following activities:

  • Work within a team to support one or more client engagement teams to monitor and control engagement financials (staffing, spend, profitability);

  • Support project management office (PMO) functional tasks and day-to-day contract management activities;

  • Understand and utilize standard processes for project management, quality management, and risk management;

  • Interact periodically with indirect finance team to ensure that Financial Reporting is in line with Engagement operations;

  • Provide support for engagement leadership ad hoc requests;

  • Contribute to the growth and development of the overall GPS Engagement Controller Practice through active involvement in one or more practice initiatives

The team

Our GPS engagement controller practice helps clients definewhat they need and how it can be delivered, and are an integral part of thesuccessful delivery of engagements. We work with clients to define projectscope in as much detail as possible using advanced budgeting, forecasting andprogram management techniques. We ensure that financial reporting, invoicing,contract management, pricing, and risk management activities are routinelyexecuted in order to update project leadership with the financial health of theengagement.



  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management, or a related area;

  • 0 years experience in a PMO or financial analysis role

  • 0 years experience with the entire Microsoft Office Suite, including intermediate to advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Experience summarizing results and producing management reports

  • Experience soliciting data from and presenting results to Senior Leadership

  • Proven oral and written communication skills, including excellent presentation skills

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and adherence to project deadlines

  • Proven ability to work effectively, both independently and as a member of a team

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 80%


Experience with Deltek Costpoint

Experience working with a Federal or Stategovernment contracts

Experience in working and collaborating withinternational teams

Experience in a client service environment;consulting experience is preferred

Experience with MS Project applications
