Senior Manager, Deloitte Leadership Academy

    Work you'll do

    As a Senior Manager in DLA, you will plan and lead a group of individuals to create a robust portfolio of curricula that brings the talent development vision (Education, Experience and Exposure) and the business' strategy to light. You'll also focus on ensuring that operations are running efficiently while helping the team meet professional goals. Your day-to-day duties, tasks, and responsibilities in include:

    Strategy Development


    Seek input from the CLO/Senior L&D Leader for curricula strategy, content domains, and learning impact analysis.

    Set direction within area of responsibility to comply with overall L&D governance.

    Analyze data to drive informed learning investment decisions and provide analysis across the full L&D organization.

    Create the annual development plan and delivery model, defining the right mix and use of modalities.

    Apply knowledge of vendor landscape, adult learning theory, L&D best practices, tools, and technology to advise on and evaluate options to elevate the learning strategy.

    Support the development of DLA roadmaps for Lifecycles.

    Stakeholder Relationship Management


    Partner closely with learning teams across the US, USI, and Deloitte Global to influence outcomes and gain alignment on development strategy across geographies.

    Partner with and support key stakeholders (DE&I, Well-Being, Purpose, Talent etc).

    Collaborate with global peers to align on priorities and shared common curriculum development.

    Communications & Brand Equity


    Collaborate with the Operations and Communications work group to craft and execute internal communications.

    Operations Management


    Collaborate with senior leaders to lead the budget, infrastructure, and operations aligned to business demands.

    Work with Talent Analytics to analyze curriculum reports to identify gaps in success factors, ROI and impact to drive informed learning investment decisions.

    Analyze data to create consistent, timely communications to enable agile response and adjustment to business needs.

    Collaborate with Vendor Management to review and execute contracts with vendors to operationalize program development.

    Collaborate with other work groups and sub-teams to identify areas to improve efficiencies.

    Engage / assign / mobilize teams to execute upon the highest priority objectives.

    Collaborate with Ops & Comms to approve vendor invoices up to the established threshold.

    Curriculum Management


    Advise in the design and curation of effective, technology-enabled learning solutions that enable continuous learning across the talent lifecycle through the interplay of live and digital learning, on-the-job experiences, and exposure.

    Bring together leading practices and deep business acumen to cultivate cross-disciplinary growth.

    Analyze trends and drive innovation to improve the overall learning experience design, content, delivery methods, and technical learning tools.

    Use agile-development methods for generating speed to impactful solutions.

    Drive collaboration with peers to share and leverage best practices to architect value-add learning experiences.

    Manage the overall scope and risk mitigation for programs and engagements.

    Lead a combination of direct reports, Talent Services resources, and vendors to deliver against the L&D development plan.

    Ensure effective and inclusive on-demand, virtual, and in-person deliveries and implementations.

    Resource Mgmt & Development


    Create a teaming environment which encourages sharing of best practices, driving innovation, and continuing improvement.

    Lead, inspire, and coach team members, fostering individual and team growth and agility through delegation, feedback, instruction, and encouragement-building on strengths and dissecting and developing areas for improvement.

    Coach and mentor work group team members through established 1:1 check-ins and other development mechanisms.

    Complete and submit 360* professional development and performance review documentation.

    Cultivate an inclusive, high-performing team that maximizes team member contribution by creating an environment of mutual support and shared responsibility.

    Provide support for personnel and other administrative activities for direct reports.

    Plan and execute focused Resource Mgmt & Development Days (managers support, CLO approves Topic).



  • Bachelor's Degree; Minimum 10 years of related experience

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, professional services environment

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Strong strategic and critical thinking to identify interdependencies between issues, data, and outcomes; clear understanding of how moving pieces come together to build the big picture

  • Established track record for taking a consultative approach to designing and delivering innovative learning programs with measurable business results that meet stakeholder needs

  • Go-to resource for adult learning theories, leading-edge instructional design methods, performance consulting, communications and change management

  • Significant program management experience in successfully planning, managing and delivering multiple, concurrent, and complex work streams in a matrixed organization with aggressive timelines

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills that build relationships at all levels across the organization with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build consensus

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and present data-driven insights and trends

  • Proven ability to communicate ideas and insights in person, virtually, and in writing, succinctly and with impact, understanding what is relevant vs. what is "noise" to the audience

  • Strong command of Microsoft Office skills

  • Up to 20% travel could be required based on role responsibilities


• MBA or other advanced degree in training and development, human resources development, education, organizational psychology, or related field

• Prior consulting or professional services experience
