Deloitte Senior Data Scientist with Polygraph in Rosslyn, Virginia

Work you'll do

The candidate will join a team of high-performing data scientists delivering cutting-edge analytics against high-visibility national security missions. Candidates will apply advanced machine learning techniques that include but are not limited to clustering, forecasting, classification, natural language processing, and graph analytics to a wide variety of mission and business data to identify signatures, relationships, patterns, and routines.

The GPS Analytics and Cognitive (A&C) offering is responsible for developing advanced analytics products and applying data visualization and statistical programming tools to enterprise data in order to advance and enable the key mission outcomes for our clients. Our team supports all phases of analytic work product development, from the identification of key business questions through data collection and ETL, and from performing analyses and using a wide range of statistical, machine learning, and applied mathematical techniques to deliver insights to decision-makers. Our practitioners give special attention to the interplay between data and the business processes that produce it and the decision-makers that consume insights.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

  • Must have current and active required clearance for this role

  • Candidates should be comfortable executing common data science workflows with high-volume temporal data to include data cleaning and standardization, feature engineering, and model selection and evaluation

  • Candidate is expected to work with data engineers to test and validate training and production data pipelines to help deploy models

  • Candidate should have experience with a wide range of analytics techniques and strong strategic communication skills to include presenting quantitive concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Advanced expertise with developing data science algorithms, utilizing open-source tools, and general programmaing/statistical languages are required

  • Responsibilities may include enriching machine learning model output with additional data sources for easier contextualization and consumption by analytic consumers
