Manager, Contracts Central Support Team

The Contracts Central Support team is responsible for providing support to the Sector Contracts team. The efforts provided are focused on performing activities that support the delivery of compliant contract administration. The activities include, but are not limited to, tracking and notification of contract deliverables, approvals of the first and last invoice, price analysis needed for subcontract and purchasing activities, creation and maintenance of opportunity related information in GovWin contract management system, and the management of FOIA requests. The team is comprised of US and India based personnel.

The manager of the Contacts Support team will be responsible for leading, managing, and directing staff and business processes to meet business objectives. The manager will identify areas for process improvement, make recommendations, and assist in implementation. This is a new team and the Contract Support team manager will be actively involved in defining of the process and selection of the team. The scope of services will continue to grow over time and the manager will be responsible to define the operational model needed to deliver the services. The Contracts Support team manager will have a high level of interaction with other GPS Contracts personnel to provide the required support. The Contracts Central Support team manager must have a strong operations background, an understanding of federal, state, local, or higher education contracting principles and practices, and experience managing large teams.

  • Oversees daily activities for the Central Support team. Monitors status of activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of services.

  • Makes process-improvement recommendations to improve activities.

  • Serves as an escalation point to internal customers. Works directly with internal stakeholders to anticipate and resolve issues.

  • Identifies and communicates key compliance, contractual risk, and execution risk items with internal stakeholders

  • Understands and balances competing priorities across multiple internal business functions. Works collaboratively to reach solutions.

  • Provides feedback and coaching to team members.

  • Checks the quality of team member work-product and provide constructive coaching and feedback.
