Deloitte Lead Engineer in Rosslyn, Virginia

Work you'll do

The Lead Engineer shall be responsible for oversight and engineering planning of new and/or expanded/enhanced projects. The Lead Engineer shall lead a team that is responsible for delivery of new projects, enclave planning activities, and management of long-term project and future state technology implementations. This position will support the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) located in Monterey, California. (resource not required to reside in Monterey, CA). We are looking for a candidate with experience architecting, implementing, administering, and troubleshooting IT infrastructure (compute, storage, and network) components within a high availability enterprise environment and commercial cloud.

  • Technical depth to uncover root causes of complex technical problems and expertise in providing guidance on solving them, with a passion for technology.

  • Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management using exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience implementing IT infrastructure solutions to resolve technical debt challenges, add new capabilities.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Active Top Secret security clearance required.

  • Over ten years of experience maintaining IT infrastructure in a datacenter environment.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

  • One Cybersecurity Level II or higher certification, as defined in DoD 8570.01-M and required by DoDD 8140.01.

  • Experience providing IT infrastructure services to DoD organizations, with experience providing IT support to NIPRNET and SIPRNET environments.

  • Experience leading multiple concurrent IT projects (e.g., capacity planning, application migrations, etc.).

Preferred:

  • One or more computer environment certifications (e.g., EMC, Microsoft, Juniper, Cisco, VMware, IBM, Oracle, Red Hat, Docker, etc.).

  • IASAE Level III certification, as defined in DoD 8570.01-M.

  • Experience in cloud computing technologies.
