The Team:

Our Supply Chain Network & Network Operations (SCNO) team help clients transform their value chains into competitive weapons. We drive efficiency, improve flexibility, and increase responsiveness through proactive insights and decision-making. We advise, implement, and operate transformational solutions that bring world-class supply network and operational capabilities to our clients. We provide operational know-how, digital technologies, advanced analytics, and industry-specific hybrid solutions to deliver unprecedented client value. The GPS Energy, Climate, and Natural Resources (ECNR) team is part of the broader SCNO Portfolio within Deloitte Consulting. ECNR team is composed of 100+ energy-sector focused professionals serving public sector clients. Our community brings together the best and brightest talent from across the energy sector with a broad range of backgrounds in policy regulation, finance, engineering, and technology which allow us to deliver leading-edge solutions to our clients.

Work you'll do/Responsibilities:

  • Serve domestic and international government and public sector clients, devising and applying smart solutions to the clean energy transition in the power sector

  • Collaborate with energy stakeholders in one of following areas: climate, energy, power, mining, and transportation stakeholders, while supporting senior government clients and counterparts on economic challenges and policy solutions

  • Conduct financial and market analysis, policy development, regulatory reform recommendations, and utility customer experience assessments

  • Display knowledge on functional and technical topics by identifying and developing logically sound, evidence-based market and policy recommendations for public sector clients based on thorough market research, leading industry trends, and detailed data analysis

  • Participate in team problem-solving efforts and offer areas improvement to drive client/project success by developing alternative solutions

  • Conduct relevant research and data analysis to prepare detailed reports and presentations on technical topics to brief to clients

  • Participate in business development efforts and proposal development, as requested

  • Actively expand consulting skills and professional development through training courses, mentoring, and daily interaction with clients

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.

  • Exposure to and understanding of the energy, power utility, and electricity industry.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Security Clearance for this role.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/ sectors you serve.

Preferred

  • Advanced degree in engineering, power systems, business, finance, economics, policy, or other related fields.

  • Experience or training in the power sector/energy focused areas, including the following:

  • Experience using power system planning tools, such as AURORA, PLEXOS, PROMOD, PSSE, TARA

  • Strong knowledge of energy and power industry policies and best practices.

  • Energy program planning and implementation experience.

  • Understanding of utilities and energy/power generation and supply and sequencing and cause/effects of the energy transition.

  • Knowledge of U.S. electricity markets and stakeholders within them and their roles

  • Experience in power systems modeling and utility operations, specifically working within power utility companies on commercial and distribution activities.

  • Experience working on the development of energy related third party financing projects (42 U.S.C. section 8287) including Energy Savings Performance Contracts, Utility Energy Savings Contracts, and Enhanced Use Leases.

  • Possess knowledge to develop analyses, build capacity of others to do this work, and support technical conversations (both for business development and delivery).

  • Proven leadership skills demonstrating strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Experience presenting to clients or other decision makers

  • Proven experience effectively prioritizing own workload to deliver service excellence, on time and in scope.

  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly, logically, succinctly, persuasively and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience.

  • Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives

  • Ability to make decisions quickly and fairly based on the best available evidenced-based research tools.

  • Desire and ability to work cross-culturally, understand global issues, and with international stakeholders, particularly those in developing countries
