Cloud FinOps Consultant

Work you'll do:

The GPS FinOps sub-offering is seeking a highly motivated and skilled FinOps cost and consumption analyst to support a diverse portfolio of Federal, State, and Local government customers implement cost transparency, governance and optimization into their Cloud environments by using 3rd party and Cloud Native services available within various Cloud Service Providers, such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI.

Responsibilities include:

• Regular reporting on a weekly and/or monthly basis for cloud spend, cloud utilization.

• Parsing billing data to find trends, patterns, and anomalies

• Creating alerts/notifications for variances from standard, budget ceilings, or funding

• Assisting with creating forecasts based on a combination of historic trends, customer input and technical teams

• Analyzing commitment (RI, SP, CUD) utilization and optimization

• Generating Ad-hoc reporting and tasking as requested

• Generating and completing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) for external FinOps clients and internal FinOps team

Our Cloud Engineering team focuses on enabling our client's end-to-end journey from On-Premise to Cloud, with opportunities in the areas of: Cloud Strategy, Op Model Transformation, Cloud Development, Cloud Integration & APIs, Cloud Migration, Cloud Infrastructure & Engineering, and Cloud Managed Services. We help our clients see the transformational capabilities of Cloud as an opportunity for business enablement and competitive advantage.

Cloud Engineering supports our clients as they improve agility and resilience, and identifies opportunities to reduce IT operations spend through automation by enabling Cloud. We accelerate our clients towards a technology-driven future, leveraging vendor solutions and Deloitte-developed software products, tools, and accelerators.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

• Must be able to obtain and maintain required US security clearance for this role

• 3+ years of experience using CI/CD tools for automation

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the needfor employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

• Ability to travel 0-50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred:

• Experience with tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Quicksight or similar

• Experience with CSP tools such as Cost Explorer, Compute Optimizer, Azure Monitor

• Experience with CMP tools such as CloudHealth, CloudCheckr, Apptio

• Ability to write and execute API queries

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (Vlook up, Pivot Tables, IF functions, etc)

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with different project teams, and senior leadership.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to maintaining the integrity of financial data.

• Strong understanding of cost optimization and consumption analysis within cloud computing environments

• Certifications one or more: Google - Professional Data Engineer; AWS - Developer - Associate; Azure - MCSA: Cloud Platform (Development Focus)
