Description

The Office of the COO supports the US firms' COO and CFO with day-to-day operational activities and drives select strategic projects and initiatives that represent top priorities for the COO and CFO. Our team consists of practitioners with backgrounds in strategy and operations business consulting, as well as business project management and executive governance/support.

We are a tightly knit high-performing team who are geographically dispersed and work remotely most of the time. We recognize and appreciate face-to-face interactions and, pre-COVID, would co-locate with our fellow team members at least twice a year (currently paused due to the pandemic).

We are looking for an energetic professional with outstanding communication, analytical and project management skills to join our team -- a self-starter and enthusiastic team member who is highly organized with excellent attention to detail.

Work you'll do

As an Office of the COO Senior Consultant, you'll work with the OCOO team to lead and support both ongoing and one-time programs and initiatives that support Finance and Administration leadership, CFO, and COO, including:

  • Managing and supporting the preparation and publication of The Compass, a quarterly report distributed to firm leadership covering a variety of topics including: the firm's strategy, financial performance, operations, investments, market data, and industry trends. In this role, you will need to:

  • Interact with senior leaders across the firm to form and execute analyses, and prepare clear, concise, high quality content.

  • Integrate information from a wide range of primary and secondary sources, including: Internal business data, client surveys, financial results, third-party research, government publications, industry commentaries, and news articles.

  • Present data in a visually appealing manner that will tell a story and support leadership's vision.

  • Build effective working relationships with subject matter experts within the firm, which includes both interviewing and information-gathering, as well as presenting draft work for feedback.

  • Work collaboratively with practice leadership and internal stakeholders to prepare deliverables and ensure timely completion of content.

  • Supporting other activities within the Office of the COO, including:

  • Preparing project/program updates related to our portfolio of operational initiatives sponsored by the firm's Operating Committee.

  • Supporting work on strategic operational initiatives, prioritized by COO/CFO for the OCOO team. This work may include conducting interviews, synthesizing wide variety of information into clear executive stories, preparing workshop materials, among others.

  • Conducting research into clients and market trends as needed to support the preparation of leadership briefings.

  • Coordinating leadership meetings, including preparation of agendas and supporting materials.

  • Executing other ad-hoc analyses as required to support FA leadership.

    What You'll Need

  • A Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of relevant professional experience.

  • Experience in consulting, project/program management, finance, investor relations, or similar field

  • Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written - role requires the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to various levels of leadership in-person, over the phone, via video conference (VC), and over email

  • Ability to develop executive level presentations, with details, logic, and content tailored to the appropriate audience

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to structure and synthesize qualitative / quantitative findings into leadership-level presentations and exercise mature judgement

  • A proactive work ethic ("self-starter") that also embraces a collaborative ("team-player") approach to project work

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work streams in a fast-paced environment while maintaining outstanding attention to detail and quality of deliverables

  • Excellent proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook; proficiency in other applications such as MS Project, Access, Excel macros are a plus.

  • Willingness to travel on a limited basis, as needed on projects (currently paused due to COVID-19).

  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

    What's Nice to Have

  • Preference is a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a Business-related field (e.g., MBA, Finance, Economics, Business Management, etc.). An advanced degree is preferred.

  • Experience building financial models (e.g., business cases, etc.), and working with big data sets to solve business problems.

  • Tableau proficiency, or other experience with visualizing data.

  • Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder organizations.

  • Experience/comfort with working on a virtual team with stakeholders across geographies.
