Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in Philadelphia, PA.
Work You’ll Do
Assist clients in the investment management industry with various items relating to state and local tax, including state tax liability computations, filing position determinations, state audit defense, and investor state informational reporting. Provide compliance and consulting services to investment management clients and undertake tax compliance assignments. Identify complex tax issues and provide tax analysis for various clients. Spearhead complex tax research projects for investment management clients invested in diverse industries, as well as research and analyze a wide range of tax issues such as nexus and state filing requirements. Assume tax planning responsibilities for investment management clients.
Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Taxation, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
Eighteen months experience applying federal, state, and local tax rules to corporate, partnership, and individual clients.
Experience must include eighteen months of:
Utilizing tax tools and software, including Westlaw, CCH, LexisNexis, RIA Checkpoint, and Superform, to perform research on state tax matters;
Executing complex multi-state tax projects, including analyzing transactions and writing correspondence for audit defense;
Preparing and filing K-1s, withholding, and composite returns for partnerships and limited liability companies in multi-state jurisdictions, including hedge funds and private equity funds;
Preparing state income and franchise tax returns for corporations and partnerships based on varying state regulations for the apportionment of income and nexus creating activities;
Analyzing conflict state issues, including, state audit provisions, multi-state corporate conversions, and tax restructuring issues;
Mediating between client and state revenue department to resolve state tax notices, audits, or other tax-related issues/inquiries; and
preparing complex tax technical memos responding to Information Document Requests (IDRS) and various tax notices.
