Work You'll Do:

An AWS Back End Engineering Lead in our Assets & Hybrid Business Ventures offering will design & develop products, accelerators, and proofs of concept across our strategic investments, that can be leveraged by multiple clients based on a roadmap that aligns with Deloitte's business strategy, market demand, competitive intelligence and most importantly the common needs of our clients. A successful candidate will be able to communicate well with the product stakeholders who will have varying levels of technical abilities, and able to work within teams or independently within a fast paced, dynamic environment.

Specifically, we're looking for someone experienced with leveraging Node, AWS Lambda, and Kinesis to create, grow, test, and maintain Serverless applications. Creating, and consuming from, a number of APIs and event streams to develop a rich hosted orchestration engine that will drive the future of one of our key initiatives.

  • Contribute as a member of an Agile/Scrum team of engineers working on API and event-driven architecture as part of a large product development effort

  • Help drive architectural decisions as part of the team and help shepherd those decisions through implementation

  • Translate high-level architectural designs into actionable development patterns

  • Help guide junior developers in development best practices

  • Perform spikes to yield a set of potential solutions, each with pros and cons

  • Take part in the team's agile delivery, using continuous integration, test-driven development, consistent peer review, and pair programming methodologies

What You'll Bring to the Table

Qualifications

Required:

  • You thrive when working within an Agile, cross-functional, and distributed / remote team

  • Experience Backend Development experience with emphasis on Node JS and in particular Typescript. Can apply patterns, use maxims and be contextually driven as a Senior Engineer

  • Solid experience with the development and consumption of REST & GraphQL APIs

  • Working knowledge of Git

  • Experience defining and building CI/CD and full DevOps process with AWS platform

  • Experience working with cloud hosting technologies, in particular AWS and its event focused components, e.g. Lambda.

  • Experience building environments using Hashicorp Terraform or similar technologies

  • Experience with optimizing high-performance applications under significant load

  • Self-starter with deep hands-on work experience with production implementations on public cloud providers within large enterprises

  • Understand the importance of communication and teamwork in a globally distributed agile team

Preferred:

  • Service-Oriented and Microservices Architecture experience

  • Experience working with event streams (e.g. Amazon Kinesis, Kafka)

  • Experience working in containerized solutions (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Experience within the contact / call center industry

  • Experience and expertise building integrations across CRM, Case management, WFM and other related contact center solutions

  • 5+ years of overall experience, to include a minimum of 2+ years of enterprise, full-life cycle in Architecture in the professional IT/Software Development services industry

  • 2+ years project experience architecting, building, and supporting cloud-based solutions on AWS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent work experience

  • Applicable cloud certification within AWS

  • Current or previous proven experience and hands-on as a successful senior engineer and/or cloud engineer (highly desirable)

  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and concepts such as agile, SCRUM, CI/CD, and DevOps

  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, communication, coaching, analysis, troubleshooting and problem solving

  • Experienced, persuasive and effective presenter, both written and verbal.

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to handle diverse situations, multiple initiatives and rapidly changing priorities.
