Deloitte has an opportunity for a Strategic Marketing Planner (SMP) supporting the Audit & Assurance practice of Deloitte & Touche LLP. The SMP will specifically support Deloitte Private, a market segment within Audit & Assurance focused on providing services to private companies. The successful candidate is a strategic thinker and team player who is detail-oriented and proactive. This person will be responsible for developing and executing a marketing strategy for the private company market segment that is delivered both nationally and regionally. We are looking for fresh ideas and a strong ability to increase engagement with our audience. Collaboration is a key component of the role. This professional will serve as the strategic marketing advisor to the Audit & Assurance Private Enterprises national managing partner working closely with his chief of staff and the regional leaders, as well as work with Deloitte s internal Marketing Services agency and outside agencies.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Strategy: Using insights from the current business strategy and the marketplace, as well as data from historical marketing programs, develop a marketing strategy for a growing national practice with a regional focus. Every marketing tactic, from events to content development to digital presence, should be aligned with the overall strategy.
Collaboration & Relationships: Develop strong relationships with the Audit & Assurance Private Enterprises national managing partner, local leaders, and professionals highly engaged in marketing activities. Team closely and work collaboratively with the cross-functional Deloitte Private marketing team and across the Audit marketing team.
Events (70%): Support local events and sponsorships, including developing the overall strategic event plan, providing recommendations for topics and markets, and offering creative ideas for building relationships with local audiences. From a tactical standpoint, work with Marketing Services to manage logistics, including invitation, registration site, booth, on-site materials, staffing, etc.
Content Development: Draft content for sales sheets, brochures and other communications. Support the entire process of creating materials from drafting content to approvals to design.
Deloitte.com: Manage the Deloitte Private webpage, including drafting new content, creating new pages, cross-promoting pieces, and increasing engagement on the page (including paid search).
Thoughtware: Support the development of thoughtware including strategic concept development, reviews, and final approvals with stakeholders. Work with external writers and / or the public relations team to provide additional support for creating articles, press releases, and messages.
Advertising: Team with outside agencies to develop creative and a media plan for Deloitte Private; track ROI and KPIs.
Measurement: Track, monitor, and evaluate activities and accomplishments and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
Marketing / communications professional with a minimum of 6-12 years relevant experience.
A Bachelor's degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, English, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field is required.
Knowledge of the private company market a plus and/or eagerness to learn about the market space a must.
Strong knowledge of marketing and communications strategic practices and experience building, driving, and executing a broad marketing strategy.
Proven success in developing and executing marketing programs for a large business, preferably in professional services.
Innovative, creative, curious mindset, willing to learn about, experiment with, and champion new media and channels.
Experience collaborating with teams in a professional services or large, matrix organization preferred,
Strong writing, editing, and copy-editing skills and previous writing/editing experience in corporate communications, PR, or journalism fields required.
Superlative project management skills.
Extremely detail-oriented and provides exceptional quality projects.
Ability to work well in a virtual team environment.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and interact with all levels of management.
Works well under pressure and can effectively and professionally handle tough issues.
Experience in measuring the effectiveness of communication strategies and approaches.
Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Word. Knowledgeable in all aspects of Microsoft Office and ancillary programs.
