The Energy, Resources & Industrials (ER&I) Industry group is comprised of more than 6,000 Deloitte professionals serving over 92% of Fortune 500 companies across the Industrial Products & Construction; Oil, Gas & Chemicals; and Power & Utilities sectors. The Industry Marketing Leader will oversee a team of Strategic Marketing Planners (SMPs), providing strategy and planning for all integrated marketing campaigns that support growth for client teams and sectors within Deloitte s ER&I industry. The Industry Marketing Leader serves as a trusted marketing advisor to the industry and sector leaders, client leaders and key stakeholders within the businesses, and is responsible for developing strategic marketing plans for best-in-class marketing operations as well as has oversight for marketing campaign execution. The Industry Marketing Leader is also a proxy for the Business Chief Marketing Officer (BCMO) of Client Experience.

  • In conjunction with the BCMO, develops, maintains, and drives prioritization of all marketing activities for the ER&I Industry with a focus on supporting growth for sectors and client teams

  • Works with BCMO and stakeholders to initiate and support development of strategic marketing campaigns in support of industry priorities

  • Liaises with Internal Communications around initiation and development of priorities

  • Collaborates with PR team to drive media coverage when applicable

  • Manages overall portfolio of campaigns and activities to ensure proper prioritization and utilization of appropriate resources

  • Approves and provides counsel to SMPs for development of strategic briefs (business cases) for prioritized marketing campaigns

  • Manages operational activities, including overall calendar, reporting and presentations

  • Drives annual planning process, including discussions with leadership around priorities

  • Plans and manages marketing budget for all campaigns

  • Brings innovative thinking and marketing practices to all marketing activities

  • Provides ongoing guidance and counsel to SMPs with regards to their roles & responsibilities; Vets requests for marketing support for the business with appropriate stakeholders

  • Along with Marketing Services, develops metrics and KPIs to assess campaign success at the campaign, activity and channel levels to inform future campaign tactics

Qualifications include:


  • 15 years of experience in marketing, with a focus on marketing and communications strategy and planning

  • Undergraduate degree, ideally with a focus in Marketing

  • Deep understanding of integrated marketing and communications strategies and how they come together to provide measurable results

  • Previous experience in B2B marketing

  • Superior Microsoft Office skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with integrating various technologies to support marketing efforts

  • Deep understanding of Social and Digital tools

  • Understanding of capabilities of Web platforms, demand generation, and social media tools; experience with web development, social media publishing tools, and content management systems a plus - HTML, CMS-especially Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Eloqua

  • Demonstrated proficiency in facilitating, delegating and motivating cross-functional groups or activities

  • Ability to interact and communicate across variety of stakeholder groups (client leaders and technical subject matter specialists to business owners), with ability to present complex information in easily understandable format and tailored to audience


  • Previous experience in a professional services environment

  • MBA a plus
