Work you'll do
Focus is on strategic messaging and business initiatives leading senior Tax leaders and service line/offering SMEs in discussions to create compelling go to market messaging, content and help drive business growth, including amid complex, sensitive, and difficult situations. Leads the creation and development of compelling client-centric pursuit lifecycle materials that best position Deloitte relevant to clients' business needs and opportunities. Serves as a go-to advisor for designing and helping to facilitate pursuit Labs, orals buyer experiences and tech demos persuading professionals across all levels. Guides and mentors pursuit professionals so that their work reflects quality and consistency and includes innovative approaches to best engage buyers.
As a Pursuit Senior Manager in Tax, you'll use your skills and experience to:
Leads and serves as a strategic advisor on highest tier and most strategic oral presentations with clients, working closely with PPMDs and firm leaders domestically and internationally to drive decision-making and shape strategy, coach messaging, and vision through innovative approaches and engaging deliverables.
Provides strategic guidance and coaching to client service professionals to elevate buyer experiences in meetings and orals presentations throughout the pursuit lifecycle, including in-person, virtual, and hybrid interactions; applies targeting/sales principles to identify win themes, create compelling messages, brainstorm solutions to challenges, and identify client benefits
Brings innovative approaches creating to strategic messaging and pursuit content to highlight client-centric messaging, enhance the overall buyer experience, and influence a preference for Deloitte.
Manages the pursuit process, from orchestrating development of deliverables to coordinating our teams' pursuit activities; manages team members (of various specialties and at various levels of seniority) to develop responses that meet the needs of potential clients
Demonstrates the ability to bring creativity and innovation to the framing and structuring of client-facing messaging; writes persuasively, including executive summaries (as needed) and critical components of orals and demo deliverables, interpreting information from meetings with proposal team members, client meetings, and understanding of the business and Deloitte's offerings
Serves as an orals coach (as needed), facilitating orals strategy sessions; creating outlines for story development; assisting with orals planning, scripting, and coaching; developing and communicating rehearsal schedules and logistics; preparing teams for orals delivery and Q&A sessions; and facilitating the orals debrief sessions and post-orals strategy
Participates in debrief meetings to gain benefits from lessons learned and assists in adopting resulting best practices.
Contributes to developing Deloitte's Tax pursuit team including collaborating and coaching other pursuit team members, refining and improving pursuit strategies, and acting as a project-by-project liaison between our team and the broader firm.
Serves as coach managing pursuit professionals at the manager and pursuit specialist levels, helping to hire, guide, and grow professionals along their career path progression
Conceptualizes and develops innovative pursuit practices, messaging, and organizational components, as well as drive the execution of these initiatives.
Leads Tax business growth initiatives to build pursuit skills of PPMDs and help generate increased marketshare/revenue growth; Leads national pursuit initiatives with the Tax Pursuit Center of Excellence designed to improve the pursuit process.
Guides the professional development of others-both within CMG and across each Deloitte business-by developing and facilitating innovative training opportunities.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in communications, business/marketing, humanities, or related disciplines, with advanced degree preferred
15+ years of relevant experience in business-to-business communications and/or strategic marketing communications directed to Fortune 500 organizations; experience in a professional services environment preferred
6-8+ years of direct, relevant pursuit management experience, overseeing large, global pursuits
Advanced/mastery level of skills-exemplary writing skills in particular as well as specialties that offer high strategic value to top priority pursuits and business initiatives
Experience leading teams in strategic discussion
Experience with project management for complex, multi-dimensional projects
Diversity of experience in large corporate organizations and small business concerns
Experience in public speaking and executive presentation training/coaching and/or delivery
Excellent relevant writing samples
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint
Travel up to 20%
Proposal writing experience with Big 4, Second Tier firm, or large corporate proposal experience is a plus
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $115030 to $211850.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
