Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory is seeking an Application/Business Lead Solution Architect to advise and support our key financial services industry clients along their cloud transformation journeys. As a Lead Solution Architect, you will be a senior member of the financial services technology team. In this role, you will engage with our client stakeholders to understand their core business and technology challenges, determine target state requirements, and lead our team of professionals in designing, developing, or re-engineering cloud-based solutions leveraging your deep hands-on experience in AWS/GCP environments. You will also lead our Cloud Center of Excellence (CoE) and help develop capabilities that can be leveraged to support our clients in their transformational objectives.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will interact directly with senior business and technology executives across the financial services industry. You will bring exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, business judgment, and technical expertise to cross-functional teams. This role requires a strong technical background, and you should be customer-focused with a passion for using cloud to drive business value. You should have a deep understanding of the capital markets ecosystem, including the key business processes and technology components that underpin core financial capabilities. As a Cloud CoE leader for our financial services technology team, you will be leading a team of Solution Architects who will be deployed on client engagements of varying challenges.
Specific responsibilities may include:
Familiarity with application development of AWS and/or GCP cloud-based solutions for financial services industry clients
Overseeing solution development engagements in one or more of the following areas within the Banking and Capital Markets sector:
Risk Management (Liquidity, Credit and Market Risk Management)
Collateral and Margin Management
Reference Data Management and Analytics
Surveillances (Trade Surveillances, Trade Market Reconstructions and Trade Repositories)
Directly interacting with clients to define business and technology requirements
Providing current market trends and technical "best practice" perspectives and architectural recommendations for cloud-based solutions based on client requirements
Demonstrating technical feasibility of AWS/GCP solutions through proof-of-concepts and/or prototypes
Supporting large-scale cloud migration programs from legacy technology ecosystems to AWS/GCP environments
Providing training and development support to both internal and external stakeholders using your deep cloud experiences and lessons learned
Building a Cloud CoE for financial services technology team by identifying tools and accelerators to leverage for client service, researching on new technologies, and building a network with alliance partners and member firms
Building your brand as a go-to person for cloud application architecture within Deloitte
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience
10-12 years of experience in hands-on software development in AWS/GCP cloud-based environments
12+ years of experience architecting cloud-based solutions in the financial services industry, including defining cloud strategies and executing cloud migrations at scale
12+ years of financial services technology industry experience in customer facing roles
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence others internally and externally
Ability to qualitatively and quantitatively assess both business and technology challenges
Advanced understanding of enterprise architecture principles and/or familiarity with the TOGAF architecture framework
Well-versed with current trends in cloud computing technologies

Preferred Qualifications:
Professional cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Solution Architect, GCP Cloud Architect, etc.) preferred
Experience supporting enterprise-level technology strategy initiatives, preferably in a leading management consultancy or technology services provider environment
Project management experience and/or experience leading small to mid-sized teams
Experience in Agile development environments and DevOps practices such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD implementation and automation
Strong understanding of application availability, reliability, and security within AWS or GCP
Strong application development experience across operating systems such as Windows and Linux
Hands-on experience with software development methodologies and programming languages such as Java, C, Python, and/or other scripting languages and open-source technologies
Expertise with multiple front-end and back-end programming languages and frameworks (e.g., JavaScript, XML, J2EE, HTML5, CSS, etc.)
Expertise with database architecture and SQL queries (e.g., HANA, PostgreSQL), application and web servers, and UI/UX
Expertise in Big Data stack (e.g., Spark, MR, NoSQL), applications
Familiarity with microservices and Container technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, ECR, ECS, etc.)
Familiarity with troubleshooting incidents/performance issues in production systems
