Deloitte recently launched the Converge™ hybrid market offering as part of a $750M investment in product development over the next 5 years, which will blend the agility of a startup and the reach of a leading professional services firm. Converge is launching a Banking Suite product line to compete in the exciting FinTech ecosystem, which will focus on delivering a world-class customer experience for consumer and small businesses of smaller banks and non-banks. The Banking Suite platform is a cloud-native stack at every layer and aims to help Banking Suite clients compete with large bank incumbents and FinTechs with the flexibility to deliver innovative marketing, product, and pricing strategies, while enjoying dramatically lower digital bank operating costs. The Banking Suite team is looking to build a FinTech startup team with a passion for innovation and the experience to launch a high-quality digital banking product.
Work You'll Do
Software and integration architecture and hands-on technical lead for Deloitte's Banking Suite platform.
Lead the strategic shift towards a full Banking-as-a-Service offering with an intent to yield dramatic cost reductions and revenue gains for B2B clients by delivering a modern cloud-native banking platform with an industry leading customer experience.
Hands-on software leadership to build applications that enable B2B bank clients to deploy a full digital bank instantly with configurability in customer segments, channels, products, pricing, and content.
Ensure the BankingSuite platform can support multiple clients efficiently through a SaaS model by delivering software architecture artifacts, hands-on development of critical share components, and creation and enforcement of SDLC and software architecture best practices.
Ensure code quality and minimization of technical debt by directly inspecting and approving all software pull requests.
Domain-driven software architecture design for the most critical BankingSuite applications with a majority of the time spent coding re-usable components, critical business applications, and/or mentoring developers by example.
Ensure reliability, scalability, repeatability, security, high performance, and quality through code reviews, centralized code approvals, unit testing, automated functional tests, load tests, and pen tests
Create software architecture designs and working software that maximizes code re-use, enables extensible data patterns, and minimizes non-value-added layers across user interfaces, API's, and data integration batch jobs
Create and execute integration architecture designs with BankingSuite custom applications and across BankingSuite vendor systems. Balance multiple integration methods including API, event-based integration, streaming API's, webhooks, and batch
Own the design and execution of business configurability components across multiple BankingSuite layers and technology vendors
Actively work to eliminate technical debt through both large code-refactoring and tactical ongoing efforts
Ensure the applications can support both bank and non-bank white-label business models with maximum re-use and/or segmentation in the right areas of the software architecture
Ensure key stakeholders are continuously informed of the quality of the application architecture
Solve the most complex application build and integration problems that the BankingSuite team encounters, both reactively and proactively, including solving production bugs and system reliability issues
Create and adhere to software quality and efficiency measurement standards and periodically review KPI's to aid in continuous improvement
5+ years hands-on fin-tech software development with experience in multiple enterprise technologies and specific focus in retail banking and multi-tenancy architectures. Must be able to design complex enterprise applications that can scale to M customers and B transactions across 100's of clients as part of a platform across multiple tenants and have familiarity with various SaaS distribution models.
Hands-on software development skills with experience delivering customer-facing and enterprise-class monetary applications. Some of the following financial technologies: core banking and/or payment systems, record keeping systems, and personal financial management
Must be adept at software integration patterns (e. the Addison-Wesley Signature Series including EAI patterns and Fowler's greatest publications) and know how to transform theory into working software, with a specific focus on creating a business configurability layer across all applications
Proficient with emerging DevOps methods and tools, such as agile/scrum, infrastructure as code, continuous integration, automated configuration management, test driven development, and data center/cloud automation
Experience developing and optimizing engineering processes with a proven track record of measurable continuous improvements
B.S. in Computer Science or related field (M.S. preferred)
Strong verbal and written communications, adept at explaining complex technical concepts and sharing your knowledge with technical audiences
Passion and experience for identifying and providing feasible solutions for reducing technical debt and can directly execute improvements across the stack
The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) - Enterprise Architect discipline with a focus on Enterprise IT Systems (App, Data, Technology) is a plus
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $132,000-$241,000.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
