Deloitte Research Manager, Banking & Capital Markets in Newton, Massachusetts

The Research Manager will manage research projects for Banking & Capital Markets sector of the Center for Financial Services ("the Center"), part of the firm's Research & Insights group. The candidate will report to the Banking & Capital Markets sector research leader. The candidate will be a hands-on researcher, and will also help manage the operations/workflow of the Banking and Capital Markets research team.

The Center's Banking & Capital Markets sector team is responsible for creating high-quality content for use by end-clients (banks, capital markets institutions, payments firms, securities broker dealers, market infrastructure players, wealth management firms, etc.) and our client service professionals in the Banking & Capital Markets practice. This content can come in the form of research reports, articles and features, client presentations, webcasts and podcasts, blog posts, etc. These deliverables integrate information from a wide range of primary and secondary sources, including surveys, forecasting, text analysis, case studies, third-party research and databases, analyst reports, government publications, industry commentaries, and news articles.

The Banking & Capital Markets Research Manager's key responsibilities are to:

  • Bring a strong understanding of the banking and capital markets industry

  • Lead idea generation to ensure the research projects addresses future industry challenges

  • Ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis, case study development, survey design and analysis, and executive interviews

  • Manage critical project management processes for the Banking and Capital Markets research team, including proposal development, project workflow, resources, and milestones

  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations to executives and practitioners at internal and external events.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse teams and provide timely feedback and coaching to more junior team members on their work

  • Build effective working relationships with practice leadership and subject matter experts within the firm and the external marketplace

  • Work collaboratively with marketing, PR, and client service professionals, etc. to deploy thought leadership to our clients and the broader marketplace

  • Passionate about developing "ahead of the curve" provocative thinking

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 8+ years professional experience in banking, capital markets, or at research/professional services firms serving the banking industry.

  • Excellent writing skills

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills; ability to think creatively, generate research ideas, and solve research problems

  • Demonstrated experience in project and team management

  • Strong people skills that create credibility to both influence executive-level strategic thinking and create demand for new research initiatives

  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

  • For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York City, Jersey City, Colorado, or Nevada, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to New York City, Jersey City, State of Colorado, and the State of Nevada and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95,070 to $195,215.

  • You may also be eligible to participate in a sales incentive program, whereby you may be eligible to receive certain incentive compensation amounts based on achievement of certain sales goals set forth each year, subject to the terms and conditions of any applicable program document.
