The Research & Insights (R&I) Strategy and Operations team is responsible for developing and implementing thought leadership strategy within R&I and influencing thought leadership strategy across the US Firm. Deloitte strives to be the digital source for the most differentiated, globally relevant, research-based thought leadership. Our thought leadership is intended to initiate meaningful engagement with clients and prospects, while adding to our reputation as a leader in the marketplace globally. In this role, we will look for an individual who embodies this mission and will seek to apply it across strategic priorities. This role directly engages with Deloitte's industry and cross-industry research centers, Deloitte Insights Publishing team, Data Science, and Economics teams.

Objectives of the Role:

  • Oversee strategic business initiatives from development through successful execution under the guidance of the R&I strategy and operations leader and the R&I leadership team

  • Assist and communicate with R&I leadership in decision-making, program management, and strategic priority implementation

  • Improve current processes and coordinate organizational procedures across teams for optimized efficiency and productivity

  • Advance R&I analytics and insights capabilities in coordination with DI Publishing, Research Centers, Data Science, Marketing Excellence and other CMG teams


  • Lead or support strategic initiatives as identified throughout the year. The team typically leads number of complex initiatives with high leadership visibility.

  • Proactively identify and scope initiatives for driving greater impact across R&I and the Deloitte US firm

  • Manage projects specific to the Thought Leadership Strategy such as developing training, identifying opportunities to improve reporting and supporting technology enhancement

  • Lead improvements in R&I measurement, analytics, sensing, competitive analysis, and performance reporting

  • Support R&I communications and messaging related to strategic projects and cross-R&I initiatives

  • Oversee daily operations through collaboration including aspects of annual budgeting, vendor management, pipeline refresh and updates

  • Build and develop relationships with all employees for increased efficiency and effective responsiveness into existing operations

  • Liaising /collaborating with India-based junior team members in support of research centers, analytics, and strategic priorities

  • Acting as a Research & Insights program ambassador. Keep people informed, manage interactions, and develop trusted relationships

  • Provide ongoing support to the team Senior Managers, Directors, and leadership on strategic projects and other leadership requests.

This role is evolving, and opportunities to expand responsibilities and take on more challenging tasks will be readily available. A high degree of flexibility and ability to handle ambiguity and changing priorities are required.

Qualifications and Work Experience:

A strong candidate is comfortable with or strengthened by:

  • Seeing the big picture of the global Firms and how thought leadership supports business generation

  • Working with internal Partners, Managing Directors, and other leaders as well as external stakeholders from various backgrounds

  • Experience with the following is preferred: thought leadership, publishing, marketing, analytics and/or content strategy

  • Identifying and making connections across the businesses

  • Obtaining results through influence not authority

  • Structuring ambiguous, high-level goals into executable plans; managing through ambiguity in project definition and scope

  • S trong attention to detail

  • Performing work at different skill levels to get the job done (mix of high level strategic and relationship building and execution/operations)

  • Executive-level verbal and written communication skills

  • Working virtually with team members and internal clients

Required Technical Skills:

  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills; Excellent project management skills; Ability to think strategically and tactically, Strong executive level communication skills

  • Experience with social media sensing, digital analytics (e.g., Adobe, Google analytics) is preferred

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related area; 3-5 years of related project management experience and working with leadership teams

  • Limited sponsorship may be available

  • Ability to travel 5-10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
