Senior Strategy Consultant DNA
Deloitte New-venture Accelerator (DNA) has been established by Deloitte, LLP to drive the development and scaling of alternative business models (such as subscription, product or hybrid recurring revenue businesses) at Deloitte across the core Functions (business units) of Consulting, Risk and Financial Advisory, Tax and Audit and Assurance. DNA is an internal Venture Accelerator, bringing expertise in the creation / acquisition and then development of these businesses, to the Deloitte Functions. DNA will work alongside the Functions to identify and develop product-based opportunities, then develop people and process capabilities across the Functions and Enabling Areas to be able to deliver against this strategy.
The Planning & Performance (P&P) team, within DNA, is seeking to hire a senior strategy consultant. The P&P team is focused on strategic and operational finance engagements. Projects may include (but are not limited to):
Validating investment opportunities (e.g., investment thesis or business case development, supporting M&A processes through financial analyses)
Serving as a business partner in the execution phase (e.g., operational model planning and forecasting, pricing analysis, ad-hoc FP&A support)
Providing ongoing support to the acquired, startup-like businesses (e.g., growth strategy and financial viability of the new / existing products, financial & operational planning)
The senior consultant level resource will also be working closely with the broader DNA team on various projects. The role provides the opportunity to work in a group (but largely virtual) environment, where the team is dedicated in helping the resource sharpen his / her analytical and business skills, learn how to think about the alternative business models (hybrid vs. traditional services) and develop executable strategies for startup-like as well as established businesses. The individual will be part of a small, high-impact team within Deloitte and must be able to work both independently and collaboratively to solve high-impact, strategic problems.
Skills / Capabilities:
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability that leverages structured, logical thinking (e.g., engineering mindset) applied in conjunction with a consultative mind-set
Exceptional Excel skills with significant experience in building and vetting financial and operating models
Good finance knowledge and acumen (both operational and strategic finance experience is valued) with an understanding of financial statements, key financial ratios, and drivers of value
Strong PowerPoint skills, with the ability to independently storyboard and develop messaging for senior, firm-wide leadership (across all Deloitte FSS )
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, pride of ownership, and innate intellectual curiosity
Collaborative workstyle and able to effectively work remotely (with limited oversight), while handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable when working with ambiguity and in an unstructured environment to introduce new approaches and thought-leadership to projects
Prior experience in investment banking / management consulting / corporate development / internal strategy / corporate financial planning and analysis is strongly preferred
