Our securitization transaction professionals are engaged on performing agreed-upon procedures on new issuance securitization transactionsbacked by Mortgaged-Backed Assets (MBS), Asset-Backed Securities (ABS), Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS) and Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities (RMBS)structured products. Our services include asset level file review, capital structure cash flow modeling, recomputing advanced asset and bond analytics and review of relevant offering documents. We have experience with a diverse list of asset classes including: single-family residential, multifamily, commercial, auto, equipment, REO-to-rental, peer-to-peer, timeshare, student loans, credit cards and various esoteric assets, such as cell towers, containers, railcars, solar, tax liens, tobacco settlements, whole business and others. Our clients include primary broker dealers, investment banks and mortgage loan originators/issuers in the fixed income industry.
We are looking for Senior Consultants to join our Securitization practice in our Jersey City office. A candidate for this senor consultant role would be responsible for directly interfacing with clients, attorneys and other professionals within the organization and the industry. Their role for each proposed securitization transaction will be to (i) recompute various statistical attributes, stratification tables and statistical pool percentages using the asset-level portfolio data expected to be included in a transaction, (ii) recalculate the projected future cash flow payments of the assets and offered securities in the capital structure at various economic scenarios, (iii) recompute certain investor analytics related to the offering securities, such as declining balance tables, weighted average lives and pre-tax yield to maturity tables and (iv) perform a thorough review of the various offering documents related to a transaction.
Essential functions of a Senior Consultant include:
Recompute various collateral stratification tables and analytics through excel or Collateral Analysis System (CAS ).
Recalculate expected asset cash flows for various product types and debt waterfall using certain software applications (including our proprietary VBA-based cash flow modeling tool) or Excel.
Help develop and maintain securitization collateral and cash flow models, analyze results and provide explanations for discrepancies to ensure compliance with each transaction s offering documents.
Strong document reading and reviewing skills Comprehension of the context of language and presentation of collateral stratifications, summary statistics, bond analytics in the relevant offering documents such as marketing materials, Prospectus Supplements and Private Placement Memorandum. Timely submitting relevant and quality comments and participating on conference calls to discuss any disclosure discrepancies to attorneys and clients.
Ability to think out of box and exercise professional skepticism to detect any potential issues throughout the engagement.
Develops deep understanding as a subject matter expert of specific assets types, cash flow structures and current market trends.
Contribute towards building strong client relationship through interactions with client personnel.
Contribute to a positive team attitude
Senior Consultants are required to have:
Four year college/university program required, with BS/BA in accounting, finance or economics
MS/MBA are helpful, but not required
Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Access)
Spreadsheet modeling skills is a plus
Exposure to computer programming languages such as VBA, industry system platforms such as Bloomberg, Intex or TREPP are helpful but not required
1 years of experience in financial cash flow modeling securitization transactions in Excel/ VBA
2 years of experience in coordinating and communicating with working party such as bankers, attorneys, collateral managers
Minimal to zero travel required (less than 10%)
Well versed in interpretation of legal documents such as offering memorandums, offering circulars, indentures and private placement memorandums, etc.
Ability to working independently and multitask in fast paced environment to meet client deadlines
Strong organizational, analytical skills, problem-solving skills and high attention to detail
Highly developed written and strong oral communication skills
Prior Big 4 Accounting Firm or relevant working experience in the following industries is a plus (minimum of 2 to 3 yrs experience):
Mortgage and asset-backed securities
Fixed income investments
