DevOps and Cloud Native Migration is an exciting new field within IT based on intense collaboration between application development and IT operations. The Deloitte Agile and DevOps Transformation Practice is a specialized practice that is founded on the mission to help clients transform their business and technology end-to-end to push new product innovation through scaling and accelerating technology delivery at startup speed. Cloud Native DevOps is a specialized capability that we are growing in this practice to help IT organizations unlock greater automation and collaboration across their technology stack by applying leading-edge cloud native and devops automation practices. We are looking for candidates who consider themselves a consultant and engineer and from the software development world with a passion for modernizing legacy applications and technologies into cloud native devops engineered applications from the ground up. Work you'll do

  • Structure Cloud Native Re-engineering project work streams within a larger Agile, DevOps and Cloud Transformation engagement and work directly with senior technology clients to make Cloud Native DevOps work for them

  • Lead a cross-functional set of cloud native engineers, devops engineers and cloud infrastructure engineers to modernize and migrate legacy applications into cloud native devops engineered technology solutions

  • Design and implement cloud native architectures, leveraging micro services, public cloud services, and container/PaaS based development platforms

  • Ability to roll up your sleeves to build working prototypes with clients by refactoring/rewriting legacy applications towards 12 factor and micro service principles with containerization and frictionless deployment

  • Ability to rapidly learn new technologies, open source frameworks, and commercial package platforms (e.g. Mulesoft, Dell Boomi)

  • Collaborate and contribute to our DevOps Platform Engineers to enhance the Deloitte DevOps Platform for cloud native use cases and optimizations

  • Develop proposals and participate in sales/business development efforts within the Technology Consulting practice.

  • Continually expand your knowledge beyond your defined area of competence to gain a complete, holistic view of a client technology organization.

Together we work to establish IT operating models based on the implications of next generation and advanced technologies, new and evolving service models for technology, and the operational expectations of an organization.

Our team of experienced technologists understand the interwoven nature technology plays in all aspects of today s business environment and focus on helping our clients shift from foundational delivery of technology to being the strategic business partner and catalyst for change. Our Agile/DevOps/Lean technology experts work to transform the workforce of our clients into the next generation of technology service delivery teams.

Qualifications

  • You are battle tested, you can demonstrate your ability to blend the skills of a customer oriented consultant and customer facing analyst with a hands-on technology architect, combining a hacker s mindset along with the technical expertise required to design, build, and manage a cloud native re-engineering capability (6-8 years; experience modern software development and architecture, 3-4 DevOps related experience)

  • You bring both in-depth depth knowledge and years of hands-on design and coding experience in the application of structured analysis, refactoring techniques, cloud native modernization patterns to migrate application code into microservices and public cloud services (S3, Serverless, etc.)

  • Have experience in designing and coding cloud native applications with modern frameworks such as React, AngularJS, NodeJS, Restful Services, NoSQL Persistence, Spring Boot / Drop Wizard, etc.

  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure and operations to ensure the scalability and maintainability of cloud native applications in public cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)

  • Versed and able to develop across Java, .NET and leading scripting languages with minimal ramp-up time

  • Experience in agile tooling (Jira, etc.), distributed code management (Git, Mercurial, etc.), and deployment strategies that support both iterative & continuous development

  • Application of agile engineering practices such as clean code, secure code, structured refactoring, test driven development, domain driven design, continuous integration and delivery

  • Advanced knowledge/experience with Microsoft Professional Suite (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project required.Other Required Attributes:

  • Strong problem-solving skills - ability to take a process perspective in solving problems.

  • Solid understanding of IT organizations and specific challenges and issues.

  • Willingness and ability for travel 100% of the time

  • Soft skills speaking with and presenting to clients, putting together presentation decks, willingness to build and support training courses for our clients
