The Team

The Business IntelligenceServices practice at Deloitte Advisory consists of highly trainedinvestigators and intelligence specialists with extensive experience in duediligence, litigation support, fraud and other investigations. Working with themember firms of DTTL, we can gather background information and businessintelligence virtually anywhere in the world in a timely and cost-effectivemanner, including those jurisdictions where public records are sparse.

Businesses consideringmergers, acquisitions, strategic relationships or investments need accurateinformation about entities and their executives and the potential risks thatthey may present. By performing effective due diligence, companies may helpavoid serious legal complications. On each assignment, our professionalsuncover, analyze and report relevant information to help clients make informeddecisions. If fraud is suspected, companies often require in-depth backgroundinvestigations to unravel the problem. Our team performs investigations ofparties suspected of wrongdoing, searches for conflicts of interest andundisclosed business affiliations, and in general seeks to uncover direct andcircumstantial evidence of fraud.

Work You ll Do

A Business Intelligence Services Consultantis responsible for performing research in domestic public records databases andother data sources to identify relevant litigation, criminal records,bankruptcy records, tax liens, adverse media, regulatory issues, and/orsanction and watch list records on entities and individuals. The consultantwill also analyze and summarize these records into an organized written report.If the consultant is fluent in another language, they may be responsible forperforming similar investigations on subjects in other jurisdictions, utilizingtheir language skills and relevant regional data sources.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1 years experience with domestic and/or international public records databases and Internet sources

  • Ability to effectively summarize legal records, media articles and internet websites and/or posts

  • Exceptional research, writing and analytical skills.

  • Professional demeanor and strong communication skills, both written and oral

  • Demonstrated technical excellence, with proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and internet search strategies

  • Professional demeanor and strong communication skills, both written and oral

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United Stated without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Preferred

  • 2 years of investigative experience with a private investigative firm or equivalent professional services firm desired

  • Fluent in reading, writing and speaking a foreign language is desired
