Work You ll Do
Assist clients in solving complex business and transaction issues, including analyzing alternatives and recommending solutions. Provide well-reasoned valuations and advice. Quantify and present valuation analyses and conclusions in concert with prevailing accounting, tax, and regulatory codes for transaction, financing, litigation, bankruptcy, reorganization, strategic planning, and compliance purposes. Value business entities, intellectual property, intangible assets, and complex and distressed securities. Provide financial reporting and tax valuation, business valuation consulting and fund portfolio valuation. Perform valuation of goodwill and conduct indefinite and long-lived asset impairment testing for financial reporting purposes. Perform valuation for tax purposes, including federal, state, local, international, and personal tax, as well as services related to a client's allocation of purchase price for tax purposes only. Provide financial modeling assistance and other consultative valuation services, including opinions, in support of business plan development, strategic investment decisions or other financial objectives. Perform valuation for financial reporting purposes not elsewhere classified, including FIN 45/46, 123R, derivative securities and debt instruments, ESOPs, international fair value reviews, and business enterprise and equity valuations. Will commute within the New York, NY area to consult with clients concerning the above duties.
Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
Eighteen months of experience performing and reviewing business and financial assets/liabilities valuations for tax, management planning, financial reporting, and regulatory reporting purposes.
Experience must include eighteen months of:
Performing financial modeling for business enterprise valuation, legal entity valuation and financial reconciliation, purchase price allocation, and Intangible asset valuation using cash-flow based income approach, market approach, and cost approach;
Performing valuation of goodwill and conducting indefinite and long-lived asset impairment testing for financial reporting services;
Performing financial reporting valuation for financial assets/liabilities, inclusive of enterprise values, intangible assets, legal entities, and personal property;
Developing financial models to value common stock, business entities, and intangible assets;
Conducting in-depth client, economic, industry, and competitor research and performing statistical and ratio analysis;
Preparing and reviewing valuation reports, exhibits, letters, and other client deliverables;
Reviewing valuation methodologies and assumptions of enterprise valuation for annual goodwill impairment testing and purchase price allocations;
Reviewing, analyzing, supporting, and applying accounting standards in accordance with FASB and GAAP;
Performing and reviewing valuation of intangible assets; and
Performing and reviewing independent valuation services in accordance with ASC 350 and assessing the reasonableness of the inputs utilized.
Less than 10% travel outside of normal commuting distance.
