Lead Quality Engineer

Deloitte Transactions and Business Analytics LLP advises clients on managing business controversy and conflict, executing deals, and maintaining regulatory compliance. We provide services to companies throughout their lifecycle from purchasing a company to investigating potential fraud.

The Team

In 2008, Deloitte Transactions and Business Analytics LLP (DTBA) opened a new facility in Nashville, TN for e-discovery and computer forensics work. DTBA's E-Discovery Solutions Center ("EDSC") continues to increase the capacity, quality, and efficiency of DTBA' s e-file processing by utilizing state-of-the-art technology in a dedicated environment. We are looking for dedicated individuals to join DTBA's Analytic & Forensic Technology practice and help drive the success of the EDSC.

The EDSC is a 24x7, 365 days a year operation.

Work You'll Do

  • The Lead Quality Engineer will work closely and collaboratively with Project Management, and engagement teams to provide best service delivery for the full life cycle of a project during eDiscovery.

  • Successful candidates will provide quality service deliveries and assist teams to identify technological roadblocks. Additionally, candidates should have an ability to investigate and identify data anomalies within large sets of data by utilizing complex SQL queries and statistical sampling methods.

  • Perform inspection of SQL scripts and stored procedures based on client requirements and confirm proper release management protocols are in place.

  • Identifying operational inefficiencies and process interdependencies while collaborating with cross functional team members to implement process controls

  • Identify and perform root cause analysis, facilitate remediation efforts, and verify controls are implementation.

  • Assist with creating, implementing, and reporting quality control activities including checklists, risk codes, and monitoring the success of the QC activities.

  • Implement administrative and physical safeguards by utilizing quality management methodologies to maintain security and privacy of electronically stored information (ESI).

  • Develop complex SQL queries and stored procedures as needed to investigate and identify data trends.

  • Facilitate training sessions on best practices and meetings to deliver quality reports and metrics.

  • Create and review standard operating procedures and perform documentation management.

  • Validate data throughput and confirm the completeness of data intake, exceptions handling, processing, and delivery.

  • Contribute to the release planning process for new applications and upgradesby providing recommendations and raise awareness related to risk.

  • Develop periodic reports based on risk control assessment; summarize testing results and observations to the business leadership team and other key stakeholders.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science preferred, or a similar technical discipline, or comparable industry experience in eDiscovery

  • 3 years of prior experience of supporting quality functions for a service/product organization.

  • 2 years of prior experience analyzing business problems, transactional data, or unstructured data.

  • Intermediate to advanced SQL skills to perform complex queries against large datasets, identify data anomalies, and data trends

  • 2 years of prior experience in process improvement and performing root cause analysis.

  • Ability to analyze complex problems, think creatively, communicate recommendations, influence change, incorporate best practices, and be able to drive process and structure to an extremely dynamic environment.

  • Familiar with concepts and techniques of forecasting, sampling, statistical analysis, risk assessments.

  • Thorough knowledge and implementation experience of industry compliance standards and regulations for eDiscovery

  • Knowledge of common e-Discovery applications such as Relativity, eCapture, Nuix are a plus.

  • Experience in handling multiple concurrent complex activities within a fast paced, highly technical changing environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both internal team and clients.

  • Ability to work independently, well organized, self-directed and a team player.
