Deloitte Manager, Business Project Management in Monterey, California

Position summary

Deloitte's Audit & Assurance (A&A) practice is experiencing tremendous growth in Sustainability and ESG Services. This position plays an integral role in supporting the success of ESG by performing a variety of practice management, administrative and project activities. The successful candidate thrives in a fast pace team environment, is extremely organized and detail oriented, and is confident to make decisions.

This remote position reports directly to and works collaboratively with the ESG Chief of Staff and the Senior Manager for Business Project Management to coordinate, execute, and deliver work products on behalf of the ESG leader. Significant interaction with the ESG Leader and the ESG Chief Operating Officer (ESG COO) is expected.

Work you'll do

Responsibilities include:

ESG Strategy

  • Support the development and execution of a multi-year ESG strategic plan that encompasses market growth and go-to-market strategies, year-over-year expansion of the ESG core team with a focus on onboarding and culture building, scaling ESG capabilities across the A&A practice, and ESG practice operations (e.g., opportunity management, pricing, deployment and utilization).

  • Support and lead strategic and operational-based projects to drive ESG growth and achieve operational goals.

  • Coordinate and collaborate across ESG workstreams to facilitate success and realization of ROI.

  • Prepare reporting deliverables for the Audit & Assurance CEO, US Firm, Global ESG Market Leader and other senior leaders, as well as strategic content for executive leader briefings and meetings.

Incoming Requests for ESG Support

  • Manage email boxes for ESG leaders. Serve as the central coordinator for incoming internal requests (e.g., LCSP, CPE sessions, cross-functional) and external requests (e.g., client and target opportunities, stakeholder groups, eminence) for A&A ESG leaders and senior level professionals to engage in internal, client, and external discussions and presentations. Triage requests and provide end-to-end support and coordination until request is fulfilled.

  • Exercise strong decision-making skills to properly triage requests across ESG leaders, professionals, sector leaders and champions.

  • Utilize problem solving skills to resolve scheduling conflicts as demand for ESG leaders and professionals' time increases.

General Business

  • Demonstrate executive presence and build quick rapport with internal and external stakeholders. This position requires interacting and corresponding with executive and senior level leaders at both Deloitte and external organizations.

  • Support ESG practice management, administrative and culture building activities, including but not limited to new team member onboarding, ESG townhalls, lunch and learns, ESG leader meetings, and ESG Sector Leader/Champion meetings, and ESG All Hands offsite meetings.

  • Develop and share innovative solutions to optimize efficiency and effectiveness; demonstrate forward-thinking skills as the ESG practice continues to grow.

  • Manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately and with a high level of discretion.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5 years of professional services and/or Big 4 experience

  • Excellent time management skills with ability to prioritize and effectively multi-task in a fast-paced business area.

  • Good judgment and decision-making skills; a critical and innovative thinker who can navigate gray areas, anticipate problems, formulate solutions and act accordingly.

  • Experience that demonstrates business acumen, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to work across management levels, business functions and processes, as well as a diverse team (personalities, geography, competencies).

  • Exceptional project management skills, including risk identification and mitigation, with a natural inclination to detail.

  • Strong executive presence and excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Limited travel (up to 10%) will be required.

Preferred:

  • Bachelors Degree

  • Audit & Assurance work experience
