Position Summary

Privacy Specialist US Office of Confidentiality and Privacy / Risk & Regulatory Affairs

This position will support the operational processes of the Deloitte U.S. Firms Privacy Program that is managed by the US Office of Confidentiality and Privacy (OCP). The US Office of Confidentiality and Privacy is part of the Risk and Regulatory Affairs organization within Deloitte LLP. Key responsibilities of this position are privacy operations support to include privacy policy compliance activities (e.g. the US Firms Annual Privacy Verification, CPVS), privacy-related remediation and monitoring activities, data analytics, data mapping, privacy inquiries and consultations, and incident response support.

Privacy Program / Office of Confidentiality & Privacy

This team provides support in mitigating privacy risks to the Firm and is responsible for monitoring compliance with the US Firms Privacy Policy. This team is also responsible for thedesign, development/enhancement, and deployment of technology (e.g. Confidentiality and Privacy Verification System (CPVS)), resources and standard processes to support privacy program objectivesacross businesses/practice areas and enabling areas. The Privacy Program objective is to monitor privacy policy and regulatory compliance to protect the Firm s brand and reputation while enhancing client trust. This position reports to the Privacy Verification Program Lead.

Work you will do:

Key responsibilities of this position support the development, implementation and monitoring of various activities related to the Firms Privacy objectives. This role requires involvement and collaboration across various stakeholder regarding laws, regulations and broad privacy industry best practices.

  1. Provide support to Privacy Verification Lead related to the development and implementation of processes, procedures and innovative tools that support the Privacy compliance initiatives.Assist with collecting and compiling metrics regarding business process privacy compliance.

  2. Interact with various business functions/teams to understand and recommend enhancements to various privacy policy compliance activities, awareness and monitoring activities.

  3. Support Privacy by Design objectives by assisting with the requirements, sourcing and deployment of a data mapping technology solution. Understand business systems storing personally identifiable information (PII) and provide guidance concerning appropriate privacy controls and processes.

  4. Develop executive level briefings, playbooks, templates, process flows, communiques and perform program management skills necessary to contribute to the daily operations of the Privacy Program

  5. Liaise with various stakeholders across the firm (e.g. OGC, Business and Enabling Area CI Champions and teams, Cyber Security, ITS/IRC, Internal Audit, Global Privacy Office etc.) to solve problems as they arise and provide guidance and support regarding shared objectives related to the protection of privacy-related information. Activities:

  • Support highly visible, small team in day to day responsibilities: Provide business support, data analysis, reporting and presentation content. Provide cross-business consultation and guidance regarding Privacy program objectives. Assist in various projects such as updates to SharePoint site content, PowerPoint presentations, process documentation, and forms/templates or other artifacts needed for privacy related efforts.

  • Program Management and Support Maintain inventory of Privacy program materials / templates and provide updates to assist with awareness regarding the mitigation of evolving privacy risks and changes in regulatory environment. Foster relationships with various stakeholders to ensure timely, relevant updates to Privacy program resources. Assist with the development of privacy resources and materials.

  • Technical application: Analyze data and document requirements for the development and/or enhancement of Privacy program technology solutions (e.g. CVPS, Data Mapping). Understand systems development lifecycle and appropriate privacy controls.

  • Work in Multidisciplinary environment : Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to resolve problems, provide guidance and mitigate privacy risks.

  • Strong interpersonal, written and presentation skills: Foster relationships and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels. Prepare and present briefings for key stakeholders based on data research and analysis to identify new opportunities for Privacy program maturation using innovative solutions to meet objectives.
