Work you'll do
The Lead Immigration Specialist role will provide support, analysis, and guidance on immigration issues to internal and external immigration stakeholders across all businesses. This role will involve the application of immigration and program knowledge to ensure internal and regulatory compliance, manage end to end processes, provide coverage and expertise on complex immigration issues, deliver analysis and recommendations based on data, and will communicate with key business stakeholders. This role will assist in identifying trends and escalating programmatic or strategic needs to business and immigration leadership to enable customized immigration programs to meet business needs. The Lead Immigration Specialist may support multiple workstreams and may be required to manage projects and/or situations that have a high degree of complexity and engage team members to meet client needs.
Provide information to immigration stakeholders regarding Deloitte's immigration policies and programs
Answer foreign national practitioner, business, and talent partner questions
Analyze and evaluate immigration situations and escalate red flag issues to leadership, Office of General Counsel (OGC), and/or law firms as needed
Partner with internal team and external stakeholders on solution development and resolution of immigration issues and risks
Develop communications to advise stakeholders on immigration program updates, policies, and case level inquiries
Serve as subject matter expert and assist with management of internal and external immigration regulatory and compliance processes, policies, and protocols that may include NIV and IV program and work authorization workstreams and projects
Manage and analyze data to support program strategies, workstream processes, and service delivery
Participate in content development and delivery.
Serve as a subject matter expert on Deloitte US immigration processes, policies, and protocols
Assist in data analysis and recommendations based on data and reporting to enable strategic business decisions
Identify trends and escalate programmatic or strategic needs to immigration leaders
Engage with Talent and business stakeholders to work through individual case or programmatic escalations and make recommendations on how to proceed based on legal guidance of outside counsel
Create and deliver communications to aid in the understanding of complex US immigration concepts for business and Talent stakeholders
The Lead Immigration Specialist uses critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills to research and provide creative recommendations for solutions, to help enable the program to remain nimble and proactive.
The individual in this role must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. The individual must also be able to work independently and support multiple projects in a high volume, fast-paced environment. Additionally, the individual must be flexible, agile, and able to team and collaborate in a virtual environment.
The Immigration Experience Team is part of the Talent Immigration organization of Deloitte Services LP. This team is responsible for supporting the needs of our foreign national practitioners across all businesses. This includes the development and delivery of communications related to immigration developments and Deloitte's immigration policies and programs, as well as strategic projects to enhance the immigration experience of our foreign national practitioners.
Minimum 5 years of related professional experience with a minimum 3 years of related immigration experience or minimum 3 years of Deloitte program experience.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Experience with Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, PPT, and Teams is required, SharePoint and SAP experience is preferred
