Work you'll do
As a Manager on the Professional & Regulatory Matters team, you'll use your analytical, research, communication and investigative skills in the following areas:
Participating in the coordination of the group's interactions with and responses to internal and external reviewers and/or inspectors (e.g., the PCAOB, peer reviewers, internal inspectors);
Evaluating trends and working with ICN leadership and subject matter resources to identify areas where new or enhanced independence training and/or communications are needed;
Participating in the development and/or review of independence related firm training, presentations and other firm learning materials;
Analyzing and interpreting independence requirements and effectively communicating the impact of existing and newly-issued regulations/professional standards;
Collaborating with various teams to develop and distribute independence related firm communications and alerts, including maintaining and tracking such communications;
Establishing, developing and maintaining working relationships with leadership team and partners, locally and globally;
Managing multiple projects of varying complexity simultaneously;
Communicating, both orally and in writing, key project milestones;
Working both independently and in a team environment;
Participating on special projects as needed.
In addition, your skills may be leveraged in other areas within our PRM team, including:
Proactively demonstrating thought leadership and strategic direction in the areas of independence policy development, implementation and communication;
Analyzing and researching industry-specific regulations and standards;
Participating in the drafting/review of policy and related firm guidance materials;
Participating in summarizing and clearly articulating changes in policy to firm practitioners

Independence & Conflicts Network
The Independence & Conflicts Network (ICN) performs a critical consultative, quality-assurance and risk-management function for the Deloitte US Firms, helping the organization remain unbiased and free from conflicts-of-interest, in fact and appearance, when providing service to attest/audit clients. Independence requirements are defined by specific sets of policies, external rules and regulations, so maintaining both the independence of the Deloitte US Firms and personal independence is essential to the business and reputation of Deloitte.
Bachelors' degree (preferably business, finance or accounting)
5+ years of related experience
Strong oral and written communications
Outstanding attention to detail along with strong technical, organizational and analytical skills
Strong project management skills
Experience with Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Demonstrates extensive knowledge and/or proven success working with professional and regulatory requirements affecting audits of financial statements, and in particular, the independence rules established by the SEC, AICPA, PCAOB, IESBA, and other relevant regulators and standard-setters, preferably in a global network of professional services firms.
S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or other similar professional certification
Experience with accounting and/or Independence pronouncements, standards and rules
Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP standards
An understanding of Independence requirements for professional auditing firms
Public accounting or consulting experience
