Work you will do

As a Manager in Social, Climate and Equity (SC&E) Compliance Reporting, you will play a critical role in ensuring our firm meets its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) regulatory reporting obligations. You will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of our ESG compliance reporting framework, working closely with various stakeholders to drive our sustainability agenda. Your specific responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development and execution of the ESG compliance reporting strategy, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and stakeholder expectations.

  • Manage the collection, analysis, and reporting of ESG data across the organization.

  • Oversee the preparation of comprehensive ESG reports for internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and investors.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ESG considerations into business operations and decision-making processes.

  • Monitor and assess changes in ESG regulations and reporting standards, ensuring the firm remains compliant.

  • Provide training and support to staff on ESG compliance and reporting requirements.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and industry organizations.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of ESG reporting processes.

    The Team

The Financial Reporting group has a view of the overall Firm and works closely with US Firms' Controllership and Purpose Diversity Equity Inclusion Office (PDEIO), and others within Finance and Administration. The group is a hub for the Firm's compliance reporting and works with several other groups to ensure the books and records of the firm are recorded and reported on efficiently and accurately. This position may be fulfilled remotely and does not require significant travel.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience

  • Deep understanding of ESG-related standards and frameworks including GHG Protocol, SASB, GRI, and TCFD

  • Strong orientation towards and experience with ESG reporting

  • Experience with assurance activities including internal and/or operational audit

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal, written and presentation) and stakeholder management skills

  • Strong understanding of accounting/regulatory theory and its application

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team effectively

  • Strong organizational and project management skills - demonstrate ability to plan and manage projects independently along with ensuring high quality deliverables meet work plan specifications and deadlines

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team

  • Detail oriented, able to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced dynamic environment

  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree/CPA

  • Sustainability certification (e.g., GRI or SASB's Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting credential a plus) or CPA with relevant sustainability experience.

  • Knowledge of SAP and HANA reporting or similar accounting software a plus.

    The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $93,000-$171,300.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance
