Work you ll do
We have an exciting new opportunity for a mid-level engineer supporting space systems engineering work a large Department of Defense client. You will manage the development, test, fielding, launch, and sustainment of a wide variety of satellite and ground communications systems and networks, including the Advanced Extremely High Frequency, Wideband Global Satellite Communications, and Enhanced Polar System satellites. You will:
Provide requirements oversight to ensure traceable requirements as projects progress through their lifecycle.
Support user-sponsored working groups chartered to revise or create MILSATCOM-related technology, concepts of operation, doctrine, or requirements.
Assist with the definition, development, documentation and management of user requirements for payload and terminal segments.
Create and assist in developing acquisition program and solicitation documentation.
Assist in the development and execution of enterprise/program strategies and budgets to efficiently execute programs.
Provide requirements oversight to support development, review and validation of emerging technologies.
Manage programs to ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives.
Plan and develop methods and procedures for implementing programs, coordinate program activities, and be responsible for specific functions or phases of programs.
Prepare/update briefings and reports as required.

Our Systems Engineering team delivers large-scale software applications and integrated systems, and assists clients with architecture design, assessment and optimization, and definition. We develop service-oriented architecture (SOA) and other integration solutions to enable information sharing and management between business partners and disparate processes and systems, and we deliver technology enablement to support CIO services transformation.
Systems Engineering professionals focus on key client issues that impact the core business by maximizing operational value, driving down the cost of quality, and enhancing technology innovation. Our teams deliver a wide range of services, including application architecture design and optimization, application modernization, business process management and solution integration, custom application design and development, and large-scale technology delivery program efforts.
At least five (5) years experience in defining, allocating, and validating and verifying system performance against technical, operational, and interface requirements of an appropriately sized (similar to at least Acquisition Category III level) space or ground system software or hardware programs.
At least three (3) years experience leading the overall requirements role of relevant System Engineering and Integration efforts for DoD, other Government Agency or commercial programs or projects of similar scope and complexity.
Master s degree in engineering
Active Security Clearance
15 years of experience in space systems engineering.
Direct engineering experience in one or more current or former Air Force MILSATCOM programs.
Previous assignment at an Air Force headquarters-level requirements organization (e.g., AFSPC/A5).
Recent experience working with requirements software (i.e., DOORS).
