Container Specialist
As a Container Specialist you will be responsible for defining and implementing containerization technology strategies for Cloud Managed Services. You will also design our architecture and define the roadmap for successful implementation.
Responsibilities
Building, scaling, and monitoring various highly complex applications while making our container orchestration cluster highly available
Develop, deploy, and manage OS hardening; improve operational efficiency
Work with application owners/groups to ensure proper security standards are being followed for client projects and solutions
Create and manage internal staff documents as well as security procedures to provide uniform, compliant environments for production implementation
Review operations and business requirements for projects pertaining to infrastructure with project teams, management, and client services groups for deployment and ongoing operations support
Responsible for CI/CD pipeline-based deployments in AWS for production environments
Implement the latest virtualization technology, tools, and capabilities
Implement and improve monitoring and alerting
Build and maintain highly available systems on Kubernetes or any container platform
Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and autoscaling for Kubernetes nodes
Develop your training plan to have skills and certification across a minimum of two platforms: expertise in a minimum of one operating system (Windows or Linux)
Develop scripting capabilities to support automation of routine tasks using automation tools
Report all issues and/or gaps in process or tools
Requirements
Bachelor-level degree in engineering, IT, data communications, telecommunications, computer science, or equivalent professional experience
At least 1 or 2 years of experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and/ or cloud deployment technologies
Experience with scripting, automation, and orchestration technologies
Demonstrated experience with architecting and deploying large cloud and virtualized environments, including compute, memory, storage, network resources, and associated services
Expert in CI/CD pipelines; Jenkins or code pipelines
Expert in any Scripting language; Python/Bash/PowerShell
System administration of Windows operating systems
Experience in virtual server technology to resolve technical issues and hands- on client project support
Knowledgeable in LAN, WAN, firewall, load-balancer, VPN, and data security
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and issue-management skills
Demonstrated experience leading large projects, interpreting project requirements, and working directly with clients to develop customized solutions
Excellent oral and written communication ability; must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
Skills Desired
Working Knowledge in AWS infra services such as EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, ALB, ECS, EKS and code pipelines
Working experience in OpenShift/Docker/Kubernetes on AWS Cloud
Certifications in system administration, system architecture, virtualization, or cloud technologies
Knowledge in other technologies; Ansible or Terraform
Deployment and operational expertise in Red Hat, SUSE, Ubuntu, or Cent OS
Knowledge of other virtualization and cloud computing technologies in the industry
